YOP #42

Well only 8 more posts until the next year's list...More than likely I'll keep my list...

On Sunday I frogged my Knit the Sky scarf.....and made three pairs of fingerless gloves....for some reason I did not take finished pictures of them..very unusual for me....

I have worked on socks this week...Do Zombies Skype?, my Adele socks and my Girl on Fire socks.

I looked at my Lanesplitter and realized I'd not have it done for Rhinebeck..but maybe for NEFF in 2 weeks...

Today I organized yarn..it doesn't look much different, but it is....and now, of course the one bag I didn't come across...

I have an entire bag of different color green yarn...and that's not all of it..only a partial counting...

I was really good at Rhinebeck...only got a few things!

Yarn Along and Sockssssss

I finished The Glass Castle....very good...and am working on Chinese Cinderella now...

I have also been working on socks....many socks....well, three actually...but I have seven...yes 7 pair on the needles....

So the stripey socks are my October Fire socks...the yarn is from Friday Studios. It is based in Sweden, she had a Hunger Games Club.  I want these ready for the release of the next movie. I am ready to start the gusset...I am kind of using the Vanilla Latte pattern...but I forgot to knit every other round..so it's just knit 6, purl 2....

The purple socks are my Adele socks...yarn from Quaere Fibre, called Rolling in the Deep, and every time I say that..the song plays in my head....I have finished turning the heel....it's just a vanilla pattern..She's nect door to me in Rhode Island, so when I order from her..I get it pretty quick..I just ordered some Dr. Who yarn from her.

The last pair are Do Zombies Skyp?  Yarn is from Holiday Yarns in Zombie Romance...pattern is Simple Skyp Socks..I have about 3 inches left on the leg.....I run into her at pretty much every fiber show on the east coast....great bunch of people work here....and Jenn gave a dyeing demo at Stitches...it was pretty cool...

The Ladies Across the Aisle

So the booth across the aisle from us at Stitches was the erin.lane booth.  They were lovely neighbors for the entire time...

I took the picture, so I just asked Kristin if I could snag it from her Facebook page...That is Lindsey - erin.lane, Judi Weingarden and Kristin....Lindsey's husband was also there...but not in the picture...

it was a popular booth...and when there weren't people around there were some fun conversations going on.....It was great to spend the weekend with them....and I scored the last book Kristin had..

I'm not one for motifs, but she had the sample of this with her..and I decided I needed to try it...and since I just learned brioche...well...

It's the Mia Brioche Stitch Scarf....gorgeous!

Stitches East Recap

So I went with a list this year...and I mainly stayed to the list...with a few wanderings here and there...

I was there on Saturday..and met up with a friend..it was her first fiber event..she's a crocheter..

we had a great time..walked around for a couple of hours....I introduced her to some gorgeous yarn...then when she left I went to work in Mary's booth...it was pretty steady the whole day...I did see a friend who used to teach with me...every year she comes so I was looking for her..

There were some great vendors this year...although it was smaller than previous years....there seemed to be a lot going on this weekend...some random shots...

Jenn of Holiday Yarns did a dyeing demonstration, it was very cool to watch...

I also met Kristin Omhdahl and got her new book..she was at erinlane all weekend and we were across from them...great neighbors...as were our neighbors from Yarn Bazaar in PA....I also saw Judi Weingarden and Margaret Hubert...

So what did I bring home?

From Holiday Yarns I knew I was getting the Black Jack (pink/black/white) as she ran out at the last show…and I also got the Zombie Romance (the sock)…then I bought a Walker bag to go with the sock…zombie..walkers…gotta go together..
I also knew I was going to get something at White Birch Fiber Arts…I picked up Mr. Yuck on Saturday and went back for Autumn Zombie on Sunday
Those were what I knew I was going to get…
Then String Theory had some worsted on sale…so I picked up two of those…the blues..
I love Wandering Wool and that gradient YELLED at me when I saw it…so knew it was mine…
Then at darngoodyarn I picked up a recycled skein….I like to support fairtrade companies…
Namaste..I’m an addict..I have 5 of their bags…was going to get a mini-messenger when I saw the potfolio, so got that instead…
a few gifts and a couple of free things…and the stylish hat round out my loot…

YOP #41

So Monday I ended up coming home sick, so I made three pairs of fingerless gloves..1 for me, 1 for a swap and the third for a friend's daughter..those aren't finished yet...

I also realized I'm probably not gonna get my Lanesplitter done for Rhinebeck...I have a lot of decreasing to do....

I finished the Pond Friends toy last Sunday..the shower was Thursday..it was a big hit..

Yesterday I spent the day at Stitches East and yes, I bought stuff....silly people...and I started a sock with some Zombie Romance..so I can be knitting on them during The Walking Dead....

but I was restrained, as I had a list...I got everything on my list and only added 2 skeins and something from Namaste.....

I will back at Stitches today...helping a friend in her booth....I am posting pictures on Instagram...so follow me through that little button...................over there in the side bar................................>>>>>>

I'm trying to figure out if two of the things on my done list are the same...as I've done a few swaps...and try using code words at times.....hmmm..

Stitches East!

I am off to Stitches East today...I have a list...not sure what else I might buy besides what's on the list...

So I am planning on getting some Black Jack from Holiday Yarns

This will be a Strandwanderer, she dyed the yarn specifically for it...

I'm also going to pick up some White Birch Fiber Arts...OMG!  have you seen the stripping yarn..not sure what I'm going to get yet...we'll see what calls to me...

I also have two pins on hold at Michelle's Assortment...I had favored a couple things in her etsy shop, then found out she'll be at Stitches...

I'm also looking for a fingering weight yarn in light yellows/purples for a garter that I'm making for a bride..

That's my shopping list, but I'm sure..I'll come home with more...wish me luck!

Pond Friends

Yesterday was the baby shower and the ring toy was a big hit...here is the final project..

Sorry it's so dark, it was late when I finished it....but it's quite cute...here is the first picture again, so you can see the colors...

The rings are a dragonfly, a ladybug and a bee...the post is a frog....her theme was frogs...
