or NEFF, either way, it's the last fiber festival in these parts until Connecticut Sheep and Wool in April.....lots of fun..the Hubs actually joined me...his first festival..it will be his last...he quickly got bored and went to the car to read....;)
Fun, friends, and fibery things make for a great day...it was awful weather outside..and the festival seemed busier than in past years...
I came away with not too much...I've been very good the last couple of events...here is what I got..
Wizard of Oz Jessalu bag....yes I needed another....colored alpaca from a favorite farm...I knew I was going to get some Police Box Blue from MadColor for a Bigger on the Inside shawl...and she just started self-striping..there were only 4 skeins left when I got there..glad I could snag one...and lastly I picked up some Iachos from A Hundred Ravens...in Moirae and Bearded Iris minis for a Leftie...I have been wanting to make a Leftie forever...but need to complete one of the 5 shawls in progress right now....
So the alpaca may have come from these girls...
Mark and Alisa are wonderful people...the farm is having a Holiday Day on Nov 29 Hopefully we'll make it this year...but they are across the state from us..(I know CT is very small, but still..)
There were also llamas and goats...
This guy was particularly majestic....he just lay there...as if it were all beneath him..
There were polka-dot ones and one with some beautiful hairdos...
and then the yarnz....
and we gathered at Mad Color's booth at 1:00 for a Rav meeting, but forgot to take a picture...but here is her booth...
and there were braids and flats...not sure what those are called...
There was spinning happening...
and kilt wearing...I spied two...
oh and bunnies trying to leap out of cages...
And gorgeous completed things....
It was a pretty good day.....

Year of Projects #44
So I haven't really finished anything this week....but I am still working on socks, and the capelet...and I acquired yarn yesterday for at least three more projects...yep....this list never seems to get smaller...only bigger....and on this list is only the projects I actually have yarn for....
Yesterday was very busy.... New England Fiber Festival in the morning...my sister's 50th birthday celebration at night....and then we had to drive her home..both she and her husband turned 50 and they were in no shape to drive....I'm sure they will be happy for that extra hour today....so nothing new on the knitting/crocheting front..but....

Stash Saturday - Extra large edition!
I think I missed posting several acquisitions...Today I will be acquiring some more, as the last fiber festival of the season in these parts is this weekend....I plan on buying from MadColor...I want to make a Bigger on the Inside shawl and I adore her Police Box Blue in Slink,
I don't have enough...but since I bought this awhile ago..I'll need to buy two new ones, as it won't match...I may gift this one or maybe use it as a giveaway...
I'm also planning on buying another skein from Kama Suutra. I want to make a Daybreak and have enough for a small one, but want to make it larger, so will get another skein..it's a gradient, so will just get one more....
Now..I have not been posting what I've gotten in the mail lately! Except my swaps...so here we go..
Mad Color's new club is Claimed, based on The Walking Dead..this is Walker Droppings
The picture is a bit dark..we've not had a really sunny day in awhile...
The last of the Shakespeare inspired club is Bubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble
She has two clubs and I alternate between them...
Madelinetosh did a special colorway 100% of the proceeds go to Doctors without Borders...here is CARE
Since I bought this online, I bought another self-striping yarn to try from Poste Yarn, it's Ashikaga Park
I've become obsessed with self striping sock yarn...
So another favorite online store had this
Vincent and the Doctor and a Complementary Blue...I believe I saw this on a fellow yarn hoarder's blog..YarnYarns first and immediately went to buy....
I went on a Yarn Crawl, but don't think I posted all the goodies...
Done Roving Frolicking Feet in Pumpkin Transitions..in it's own yarn bowl..
There's a shawl pattern for this...
They had a crocheted shawl as a sample up in the shop and I thought I wrote the name down..but can't seem to find it..
I'm obsessed with the idea of a red hood...so these are for a capucine..
I did post a few of the others with the LYS post, but I'm behind on those....
And the last Dizzy Color yarn for Patrol 2: A Sunnydale Club
I've seen to have gotten a lot of red based yarn lately....

Friday Finishes
Man..this week was long......the three other teachers were out most of this week...and we didn't always have substitutes..so I would have extra students....so glad it is Friday...but it is Friday and it is Halloween!!...it'll be crazy today....although our students are not allowed costumes...and we aren't suppose to have candy either....so there really isn't much to look forward to during school...but we'll still have fun...me? I'm gonna be Superman today....
and what have I completed? My LANESPLITTER!!!!!!!!!
and a sideways picture of me wearing it...
The yarn is Plymouth Yarn Boku,,,,project page
I also made a braided cowl last week from the reclaimed sari silk ribbon I bought at Stitches from Darn Good Yarn, a fairtrade company.
I also took three completed strips of a possible Aran afghan and made a wrap. I knew I'd never finish the afghan, so why not have a snuggly wrap...
and a few things from a couple weeks ago....my last minute Rhinebeck cowl and mitts...made with Plymouth Yarn Misti Alpaca
Some quick mitts made from some left over Madelinetosh Pashmina
And a quick cowl for Stitches, made from Malabrigo Rasta....everyone knew what the yarn was at Stitches!
So I am all caught up now!
What have you made lately?

Wip Wednesday and Yarn Over
I post this so early now, that the links aren't there....maybe I should do a linky party on Wednesday...
So anyway....since finishing the Lanesplitter, I have been working on my Do Zombies Skype? socks...I'm done with one and on the leg of the other...no way I'll finish for Saturday...but I might finish over the weekend...work gets in the way...
I also pulled out my capelet...my next WIP I want to finish...I can't wait to wear it....
Books...what am I reading right now?
I finished The Glass Castle last week. I read a time-travel Scottish romance that was pretty good...not Outlander..read that awhile back...
I am poking through Ready Player One that I received in a swap. It's not something I probably would have picked up...but I think it'll be good...but I haven't committed to it yet...because I've also been poking through a couple of other books, trying to decide on what to read next...
Even though there are no links...
Yarn Over
and let's try this...since I'm always so early, for any other early birds...

In the Mail
So this past week I received a swap package from Finland...pretty cool...plus she bought fabric in Kenya to make a project bag...the pics are kinda crappy, as it has been raining and grey all week...
The book looks good..kind of like a Roald Dahl book...I guess the series was popular when I was growing up, but I never heard of it...
I love all the gadgets hooked together...very useful!
A couple weeks ago, I received one from Austria...
Also very cool! The mitts are all kinds of awesome! And the book is so much fun! I'd heard of it, but had never seen it...also the Haribo, I brought to school and am sharing with students...I'll do that with the licorice from Finland too....the students will enjoy that....
And before that, I received a package that was Icelandic...my swap partner had visited Iceland!
Look at that awesomely cool Viking bag!!!!!! I collect postcards, so I love when I receive them in swap packages..the soap is from Iceland and smells so good! (It's that orangey felted square)
I love swaps and have participated in a bunch...I am only in one right now.."Old Hollywood"...
