So last night, I realized I had nothing to post today...so I got right on that!...I looked around me and saw the bag holding these two...
I knew I wanted a stripey cowl...so 1 N hook (10mm) and 3.5 hours later....one stripey cowl
Chunky yarn = instant gratification.....
The red is Plymouth Yarn De Aire, the oatmeal is Mirasol Ushya and I got them both on sale...
So what have you finished this week...come on over and join the linkups...

Stitch Along wednesday - Week 3
So sorry folks, running a bit late today....
So in yesterday's Love Your Library, I pretty much shared the projects I'm working on...except the Rainbow socks...so this is where they are at...
And I have to get back to a few other things...I stopped working on my Shark in the Woods, as I was tired of cabling...but I need to finish it...
it's about halfway....and I just think I got overwhelmed with it...
So I guess that's where I leave you today...I'm dealing with some wicked headaches and lots of sneezing which usually means I'm heading toward a sinus infection...but I'm hoping to stop it before that...

Love Your Library
So I started this challenge with a bang....and then went off the rails...I made a freestyle cowl....then joined another KAL, and downloaded a new sock pattern....but today went back on the wagon...knitted on my Stepping Stones from the book...added another inch and started the heel flap...WOWZA, is this heel flap gonna be thick!!!
when I told the Malabrigo guy at VKL that I was using Rios for socks, he asked if they were bed socks....
I also cast on for a Baktus on Sunday in my Seahawk yarn, the pattern has been in my library for awhile....
I also worked on my Zuzu's Petals, also a KAL...but also a pattern that I've had in my library for awhile...queued in May of 2013...
I also picked up Kate Morton's The Secret Keeper to start reading...I love her books and have had this one sitting on my bookshelf for awhile....This is her newest and the only one I haven't read yet...
How about your library this week?

Vogue Knitting Live 2015 - part 1
This was going to be my second time attending...I asked my friend, Maureen, if she wanted to go..and yes..she was so excited...
We left at the butt-crack of dawn to catch the 7:10 train into Manhatten....it was absolutely freezing!
The train ride was about 2 hours...and we got there with no problem, but then the 7 train was shut down in Grand Central..and we had to find the shuttle over to Times Square...I had no idea there was a shuttle, how convenient!
A little bit of a walk and we got to the venue.....the last time I went it was in a different venue and I felt was too small....and inconvenient...again the Marketplace was on two floors, and it was crowded, but not overly so...
We did skip booths that were too crowded or ones that we see at many of the fiber shows....I kept having to remind myself to take pictures...The first thing you saw was this amazing teepee
The first vendor was The Yarn Company...and I knew I wanted some of the The Verdant Gryphon's Apocalypse on the Wall...but it was too early to buy yet..
Both The Yarn Company and The Verdant Gryphon were next to each other....and hung their skeins like this....and then the yarn to buy was in big buckets....so their was a lot of room in their booths...
So now some pretties...
Then we ended up in the Arne & Carlos booth...they had a fantastic book, and I almost bought it, but since I'm going to Norway this summer, I decided to wait...but my friend modeled their amazing cape and bought the pattern...
I loved this...but they didn't have kits in these colors..and the other colors didn't speak to me..
Then we wandered some more until The Indigodragonfly booth, where I finally snagged a skein of Then Buffy Staked Edward. The End...I have been trying to get this yarn for a very long time...just for the name alone!...So I bought that and a book, Kate Atherley's Knit Accessories...(sorry pictures are dark, yesterday there was no sun)
We wandered into a button booth and I came out with two vintage buttons..
Then we hit the Biscotte & Cie booth...be still my heart...stripey yarn galore!!!!!
I came out with an owl sock kit and some green self-striping..yes I know I don't need anymore green yarn....but the pretty...and it came with a pattern...
Can you see the owls? So awesome!!!!!!
Met Maria of Subway Knits at the One Geek to Craft Them All booth, then we headed to the next floor...
and that will be another post...as there are lots of pictures for that one...

Week 3 - Year of Projects
Wow..late post this week...normally I'm one of the first....I slept late and then knitted and didn't feel like getting up to get on the computer (the tablet is not all that convenient for this)
Yesterday, I went into NYC for VogueKnittingLive. It was a lot of fun..I spent the day with my friend Maureen...she's always up for a fiber event. She is a super fast knitter and started and almost completed a mitten on our train ride...
This is on the train coming home....the yellow is her mitten...she was pretty much done by the time we got off, except to Kitchener, and the thumb...
I had started these rainbow socks.....(actually the night before, so I didn't have to cast on, on the train)
It's a new KAL...I know, I know....It's Boston Knitter's Sock It To Me: Revenge of the Stripes KAL
and I have so much stripey yarn....I just pulled this one off the top of the pile....all wound and ready...here it is by the end of Sunday..almost ready for the heel..which is a new construction for me..
And I worked on my Zuzu's Petals, too...I'm almost to the next section in the pattern....
So that was my week....

Freshly Finished Friday - Week 2
I did not link up last week, as I had nothing finished...but I have two projects this week....
First, this has been a rough week back at work....I am anemic..so I take iron daily..however, iron can cause other problems..so I haven't taken it regularly this week...one of the side effects of anemia is being tired...I've been exhausted this week...I'm back on it now...but I have not had the energy for much crafting this week...once I got home, I pretty much ate, watched some tv and went to bed...and then on Tuesday night, I had a reaction to something and broke out in hives all over my legs...had to send the Hubs to the store for some Benadryl.....everything seems to be on track again! Thank goodness!
So Sunday night or Monday night, I can't remember, I was getting my clothes ready for the next day and realized I had no handcrafted item that went with it...so casting about, I found a skein of Patons Shetland Chunky that matched the color of the pants...and whipped up a quick crocheted cowl....or maybe it was Tuesday night?...yeah, I think it was Tuesday....
And then, of course, we have The Mittens....I talked about these in my YOP post on Sunday....and here they are!
I'm not sure if I'm loving the white...I'm not a white wearing person....an occasional shirt..so I'm thinking, I might make some flowers to go on these....
They are my first attempt at mittens and I think I did quite well...there is a bit of a decrease issue, but I changed the beginning stitch count, so that might be the reason...The pattern is Waiting for Winter
mittens...I first read about this pattern on Renee Anne's blog....and I'll definitely make it again...maybe this weekend?
Incidentally, Alexa of TinCan Knits just posted about The Mitten, too! Her pictures are way cuter than mine...but I was racing the sun when I got home on Thursday to take them...the sun was setting, as I took the pictures...and I don't have kids, so no cute toys...
But, I did just buy Glurt, to add to my Stargate Lego's in front of my computer....
Aray Kree! The Goa'uld is demanding of Glurt...while the angry kitty bristles and the Ewok tries to ignore it all....the frog was given to me in a swap, because it reminded the person of Kaylee from Firefly....so yes..lots of mixed geekdoms here....
Saturday I am heading into NYC for VogueKnitting Live...I'm going in with a friend...so that is why I may cast on some mittens to work on during the train ride....we'll see...what are you up to?
Also linking up with Creative Friday and Wisdom in Wonder, but their links are not live yet...

Stitch Along Wednesday - Week 2
Good morning! It's Stitch Along Wednesday....I have nothing new to report..I'm working in the same ole things...actually I haven't been doing any stitchin' I made a quick cowl on Monday night, but that is about it...
So I'm at the same point with all of my projects...this week I've just been wicked tired....and last night I had some kind of reaction after I took a bath and started hiving....the Hubs ran and got my some Benadryl...which helped,...I seem to be back to normal this morning....hopefully!
On my Nightstand: The Knitter's Guide to Socks....I finished Girls of Tender Age...Loved it! I think I'm going to get one of her fiction novels to read next....
Today I am heading off in search of a Superhero shirt...it's Superhero Friday this week...I own an Underdog shirt, so I may wear that, if I can find anything else...
So what are you up to...join us in the links and leave a comment, if you'd like...thanks!
