Stitch Along Wednesday

Hello my peeps!  Feeling much better than last week...one day left....and well, I just woke up from a nap....

So onto the crafting...I did make one thing...I may make one more..we'll see....I am now carless, so I hope I got everything...car is at body shop for the next two weeks....

I have been doing a little of this and a little of that....I have bought tons of holiday themed yarn, yet started nothing with them...really was trying to work on WIPs.....but I'm feeling the need to start something new...

Since this is the last post before the holidays, I wish you all have a Merry Christmas....and I'd love to hear about a tradition that you may celebrate....

Stitch Along Wednesday

Hello.....

Not much crafting going on here...well there has been some, but too tired to post about it....it's the week before Christmas break and the students are restless....we have been having spring weather here...and the students are restless....I am going on another round of antibiotics for a new sinus infection....and having some trouble with my anemia....I am tired, so very tired...I took two naps after I got home today...and am ready for bed by 8....so I'm just posting this...and then heading to bed...goodnight....

Stitch Along Wednesday

Are we in the Christmas/holiday spirit yet?  Have you decorated your house?  This is the extant of my decorating so far...

Doesn't it look festive?

So, not much going on in crafting, still working on that Veteran's hat...I spent the majority of the past couple of days reading.....gasp!  Yep..I'd had a very long reading dry spell...but started the last book of the Lunar Chronicles...Winter.....

and finished it yesterday when I got home from school....it was good...it was satisfying....but parts of it reminded me of Mockinjay....

So that's it for me...how about you?

As always, please leave a link back...

Getting Stitched on the Farm...

On Saturday, the Hubs and I headed off into the wilds of western Mass for an Open Farm Day at Kristin Nicholas' farm....
I had been there a couple summers ago for a workshop....it was a lovely drive up...and after buying a few things...we poked around for a bit...
I love her house....it is full of color and fun little spaces!
This is Petunia, who posed rather prettily....

Then we walked around outside for a bit....
The Dog Whisperer was out....
I bought a bowl from Kristin, our new candy bowl (and later on we needed it)..and a scarf and jade earrings from Deborah Garner...she was set up on the porch...
So my goodies...
Oh, we also came home with some lamb, for lamb stew...yum.....

Then we decided to take the back roads down to Northhampton, instead of getting on 91....I was looking for someplace to eat...and we ran across this place....
Let's just say, we DID NOT leave empty handed.....wowza!!!!

And continuing down the road, we ran into this place...
Small shop. but stuffed to the gills, really nice owner.....I bought a few things...That ornament is a fair trade sheep from Nepal... I love! The buttons are shells...so pretty...

We then stopped at WEBS before heading to lunch at Veracruz....
and topped the day off with dessert before we headed home...
all in all...a very good day!

YOP....some week in December

Really late on my post today, but hey I'm ding one!  Not much has changed...I have mainly worked this week on the Veteran hat...the pattern I chose has 7..yes 7inches of ribbing...I'm at 4.5....s.l.o.w going!  Plus I haven't spent that much time on crafting this week...I also put a couple more rounds on some socks...oh and I pulled out my 'Tis the Season crochet shawl....put some more rounds into that...and that is about it....

And that is where I am at....I have a nice long holiday break...two weeks...and I'm probably going to be without a car (post on that later), so I'm hoping to get a few more things done....

A Couple fo Hats

No I did not finish the veteran hat...I had misplaced the bag, just saw it today...but I did finish my semi-Bedrock from Stephen West...
It's not really a Bedrock, as I ended up with way too many stitches at one point....and instead of ripping it out...again....I just went with it and fudged the pattern....I really like it, but think it's a bit short..although I have not blocked it.....

The yarn is to die for!!!!!!! Far from Woolfolk.  I got it last year on my NYC Black Friday Brooklyn Yarn Crawl (yep me all by myself)....It's a 10ply worsted 100% merino, in a square chainette texture...and is as soft as a baby's bottom...or something....but it did not take well to ripping out and restitching...seemed to felt a bit....

And I'm going to post a picture of my second Sockhead....which I call Sockheed every single time!  And again, it is too big...but not as massively big as the last one was......

I do have to double the brim and it is way too long for my head...I don't like them that loose...but it was a KAL, so had to do the pattern exactly....I finished this awhile back, but hadn't taken a picture...

I hope you all have a sparkling weekend...I went today (Thursday) for an ultrasound..and yippee..no signs of kidney stones....so happy about that!!

Stitch Along Wednesday

Figured I'd go with this picture for the month of December....

How are you?  Are you crazily knitting, crocheting, needlepointing, felting, etc....to finish holiday gifts?

Not me...not making anyone gifts this year...well maybe an earwarmer for the Hubs and maybe some slippers...he calls them his "feet blankies"  I've been in no rush as it has been very warm...and he is a warm blooded guy...so he wouldn't wear them yet...but those are still in the "maybe" column...other than that, it's just ALL FOR ME!!  Bawawaaaa...

Well, not really....on Veteran's Day, I happened across a Facebook post from The Buffalo Wool Co...they were offering a skein of yarn to the first 10 people who would make a hat for a veteran...I volunteered and started the hat the other day...it's kind of dark...but here it is...just a simple beanie type hat...I am still on the ribbing....
I've also worked a bit on various socks and a shawl for the spring...I am being good and, except for the hat, not starting anything new....I do need to make a birthday gift too....but want to finish some more WIPs...

So how about you?  Crazy holiday crafting going on?  I always crack up at the Yarn Harlot and her last minute scrambles....

As always, please prvide a link back and have a great week!
