Vermont Weekend

It's been awhile since I've posted.....no excuses....but here I am to do some updating.....

The Hubs picked up a flyer for The Vermont Sheep and Wool show a couple months back....it was the only New England show I hadn't been to, so we headed up there for a weekend.....the weather was crappy for the drive and the traffic was INSANE, but we finally reached our Inn in Woodstock a little after 8...

Our room was that one in the corner there on the second floor.....

It was a beautiful inn, The Jackson House Inn and the breakfast was insane!!!!  The chef is also the owner and sources everything locally....

On Saturday, we headed out for the show....and got lost...and the GPS kept trying to take us up and over the mountain on these teeny, tiny back roads.....we finally got to a road, where the Hubs got out to look and said...nothing has been down that road except a horse in awhile....so we turned around...

I have a small car and the roads were the width of my car.....BUT, we stopped at a local Farmer's Market (cuz it had a port-a-potty and I had to GO!)...and I got these great earrings...and the Hbs, he got pickles and squash...

See that color?  The chartreuse?  That would be the theme of the weekend!  We finally made it to the show!  The parking directions were a bit confusing...but it was in a beautiful spot....of course I had to wear my Vermonter!

It was a good show, but it was pretty much all yarn, fiber and fleece....I was looking for a Halloween project bag...no dice...there were a few project bags in stalls, but not many....I was also looking for a mustard colored yarn...nope....I didn't take a ton of pictures...

Maple Cream...YUM!  We had another before we left the show, it was THAT GOOD!!!!!!!

So what did I buy?

See the color scheme?  I also bought a very cool pair of earrings made from wood....and the Hubs got soap....

It was a great trip and I'm glad we went....not sure I'd go again, but most of the vendors were new to me, so that was cool....and I bought my first sock blank, which is not in the picture....we had some great conversations with the vendors....we both said the people in Vermont were just so NICE!

I also stopped at two local yarn shops, but I'll post separately about them.....

Stitch Along: Week 39

Good Tuesday evening my friends!  Last week was utterly exhausting!  I was in bed by 8:30 most nights.....this week, not as much, but definitely playing catch-up....I have worked on a few things...so here goes...

Decided I needed some Halloweeney type socks...this is an older colorway from White Birch Fiber Arts that I bought at the last Stitches East...called Autumn Zombie....

Stash Acquisition Saturday

Ha, another one! Two weeks in a row!  This one I blame on a gift.  I had to buy some yarn for a gift, so bought some for myself.....BUT......I was given the wrong information....and had to buy different yarn...sigh.....but I have more coming in the mailllll

The yarn is a gradient....however the recipient likes purple, not pink.....it's okay, I can use this....but...sigh.....

So I poked around on the site and ordered a few things for myself....

Not sure I can handle the opposite stripes....I want to be able to....but I'm a matchy-matchy person and these might make me nuts....we'll see......the colors are Peacock Blue and Chartreuse

I've been dying for an oxblood red and saw this Dream in Color Fierce Scarlet...yum!

Think I'm going to pair it with this....

YUM!  Tumbleweed Yarn in Glo Worm....this yarn is super soft!!!!!

And my husband bought me a gift....

Because my yarn goes into bags before being packed away......such a sweetie....

Stitch Along Wednesday: Week 37

Good Tuesday evening!

I have projects I have worked on, but forgot to take update pictures and it's too dark now and I'm too tired to try to move lights around, etc...

Been having some health issues....the upswing is that I've been diagnosed with the beginnings of rheumatoid arthritis....it could be many years before I have it full blown...or I may never develop it full blown, but it is nice to have a plan, and the pain is now being managed.  For the past year, I have been in almost constant pain.  Last summer I climbed a mountain in Norway, this summer I couldn't climb stairs...that is how fast it came on....I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis several years ago, so I've always had some flare-ups, but this year it got very bad....so I go back for a re-eval in three months to see how I'm doing and to run some more tests....and oh, yeah...today I went to my primary doctor and I have a sinus infection.....I had a double ear infection 4 weeks ago, and an injured toe that needed to be dealt with...so I'm ready to try being healthy now....

I have knitted off and on...and a box of yarn came in the mail today.....but I'm just too tired and feeling crappy right now...so hopefully by the weekend....

oh...and it's 25 years with this goofball....

Stash Acquisition Saturday

Oh my...the other day, I was having a "poor me" day and I really wanted to yarn shop...I did not, but the next day, low and behold, I had a mailbox full!

LB Art Yarn is pulling her Walking Dead inspired yarns for awhile, so I had to order some...and I'd forgotten that I had!

So the top is Maggie, then Terminus, then Mutha-Effing Carol and I Heart Dirty Daryl.....yeah...Mutha-Effing Carol and I Heart Dirty Daryl will be a big ole shawl....

Then I received my Random Fandom from Nerd Girl....it is now that Knit Night hat...

My two MadColor clubs.....BAMF is Arya this month...
