Stitch Along: Week 25

Good Wednesday morning....I've been having a good start to my summer break...spent two days on the I91 Shop Hop, visiting eleven local yarn stores....

On Sunday, I hit my exhaustion level and Monday slept about 14 hours out of the day...this is another aspect of my illness....sometimes I'm just exhausted.....but I didn't have pain, so there is that tradeoff...

Yesterday was a good day, but again not doing much....today I woke up tired again, but I didn't sleep well....so may go back to bed soon...

But I have also been doing some crafting....I finished my Rainbow hat on Saturday, so I'll have a Wrap-Up Friday post....I may have another hat finish to add....

These are the WIPs on the side of my bed...they are a little out of control!  I went through them all yesterday and had to start a few project pages on Ravelry....I hope to finish at least one more thing up this week, if not two....
I pulled this out of there....It was about 10 rows in on the white, so I am almost done...it is a  "pussy_hat"  I actually just like the simplicity of the design...and it's cute.....yes I like symbolism behind it, but I also just like the hat!
I was planning on felting this yarn to make a hat, but didn't read it closely enough and it's superwash...so now I just have a mess...not sure what I', going to do with it...I'd frog it, but not sure if it is even worth it, as the yarn looks like this...

Sigh......so I hope you all had a good week....as always please link back....thank you

Stash Acquistion Saturday

So this weekend, I am taking part in the I91ShopHop...it is eleven shops along the I91 corridor throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts and Vermont. I have actually been to all the shops, except Green Mountain Spinnery in Vermont. So on Thursday I headed out and did all the northern yarn shops....on Friday, I popped over to the most eastern shop...and on Sunday, I'll do all the southern ones with my KBFF, Maureen, each shop has to give you a free pattern and some gave out little gifts.......I only took a few pictures of the shops...but here goes...

First up was Marji's Yarncrafts in Granby, CT....I had been here years ago and I will definitely go back..she had great displays and some yummy yarn....

A wall of Kiogu!
I picked up her kit for her pattern of mitts, it's Kiogu yarn, a skein of MadTosh Electric Rainbow, a skein of Nice and Knit, no name, some buttons, a needles minder and some DPNs....

Next up WEBS....well, nothing to say there...I almost picked up this mug, but I really don't need another mug...
I ended up with some more Madelinetosh...to match my hair...ETA: It's Malabrigo
I also needed some needles and decided that I needed a pair of the chartreuse ones too.....

Next shop was Northampton Wools, I didn't take any pictures inside....but I bought some cool Wonderland Yarn, along with a ZenYarnGarden Art series inspired by a Kandinsky painting.
Then was Sheep and Shawl in S. Deerfield, Mass....I didn't buy any yarn, but a book and two Pompom magazines..
Can't wait to dive into this...

Then onto Vermont...the first was Handknits in Brattleboro...I had been there before....it has a ton of Wonderland Yarns, as the dyer is a local...but I bought a kit by a new dyer...
I have a hard time wearing mismatching things, but I'm going to try.....

Onto Green Mountain Spinnery...again, no pictures.  They only carry their yarn...but it's nice and "crunchy" yarn...I bought their kit and a couple skeins to do some possible colorwork...mitts or a hat...

On Friday, I was able to pop over to Village Wool in Glastonbury, CT. I was here only a few weeks ago, so I had a hard time choosing something. I finally settled on a skein of La Jolla Baah yarn in Blueberry Lemonade and a Namaste wrist bag...
I love Namaste.  I wish they were still in business.  It is a vegan leather, so tends to be a little thinner and wears out...but I love their bags....I own 5 or 6 of them. I also own one of their portfolios that I use for my DPN storage.....the bag was 50% off and their prize was for a Namaste bag stuffed with things...that's the only prize I would like to win....

When I got home, I had my PeggyJane Fibers order waiting for my, along with my OtterlyAdorable Toats Magoats prject bag..

So I have four shops to visit on Sunday, so expect another Stash Acquisition Saturday next week...Today I have a birthday party (maybe) and a pig roast to attend....

Throwing up the link, if anyone else has new stash to share.....

Stitch Along: Week 25

Good morning!  I am actually doing this on Wednesday morning, as I am on SUMMER BREAK!!!!!!!

So it has been a slow start to my summer break and today the Hubs leaves for work for a couple of weeks...so I'll be home by myself for awhile...no biggie....I'm actually looking forward to the alone time....but not the cooking...and I have a watering schedule to follow, he's afraid I'm going to forget to water the celery!

He'll only be a couple hours away and I may pop up there for a day or two....but mostly I'll be working on my WIPs and (cleaning the house, yuck)

So what is in the pipeline?

My Fortune's Shawlette is coming along nicely...
Rainbow hat anyone?
My Multnomah is still on pause until I figure out where to take it...it'll involve tinking, as I have too many stitches...

and various socks, in various states...all vanilla...because when I'm looking to start a mindless project, I cast on a vanilla sock....

And I finished a sock and promptly cast on the second....
The foot was too big, so I had to tink back and redo...no it might be a tad short, but I'm good with it...

So how about you?  What are you up to?  I'll be going on a "Shop Hop" the next couple of days through three states...keep an eye on instagram.....I'll post about it next week...as always, if you link up, please link back....thanks

Sucked Down the Rabbit Hole

I watch a lot of television...a lot.....and in the fall I added Netflix.  I had held off for years, but Gilmore Girls....need I say more....So now I have been sucked down the CW Superhero pipeline....well I blame it all on Lindsey of erinlane bags....
I went hunting for a certain bag in her booth, we started talking tv shows (as it was a geeky related bag) and then I met Mr. Hugzzz, who is a background actor in many Vancouver shows.  So, anyway Lindsey gushed about The Flash and Arrow...so I decided to give them a shot.....
I have finished all five seasons of Arrow....normally I am NOT a shipper, but I love Oliver and Felicity together....the actors chemistry is incredible....not sure I've ever seen it anywhere else....and Stephen, well he is just nice to look at....

I am also done with season 1 of Flash (as of last night), so onto the next seasons, plus Legends of Tomorrow...which I tried at the beginning, because I really like two of the actors (Wentworth Miller and Arthur Darvill) but I couldn't get into it...and I see I also must watch Supergirl.....so yeah...down a rabbit hole I go....good things my summer break just started....

These are not the only series that I got sucked down, I binged watched a ton of BBC shows before these....so now I am waiting.....

Stash Acquistion Saturday

Good Saturday morning-afternoon.....yesterday was the last day of the school year....so now for me to catch up on my WIPs....I've not really ordered any yarn, until today...I ordered a couple of skeins....but this week, I received two of my club yarns....

Diana of Themyscira, while I did not grow up a huge Wonder Woman fan, I have come to appreciate her....I haven't seen the movie yet, but will go this week....I'm going to be home alone for the better part of three weeks, and the urge to hermit is great, but I'm going to try and get out a bit.....

I'm thinking the Themyscira shawl from Jill Chapman, I just need an edging color......I'll stash dive for it....

Knitted Wit's Her Story...this is Pink+Blue=Purple, not a color I would have picked up...this is to honor Marjorie Lee Browne...didn't know about her and WOW, what a woman!

What's fun about these two clubs is that they are both focused on women....Mad Color's is about fictional strong women and Knitted Wit's is about real women....I have to see if this was my last shipment from Knitted Wit, so I can renew if I need to......

Throwing up the link for any one else who has new stash

Stitch Along: Week 24

Good Tuesday evening!  I really have nothing...I'm tired and hot...it's very warm in the computer room, and was miserably humid all day....and I didn't work on much this week...last week of school....yeah!!!!  I'll be back next week with plenty to say....have a great week...
