Socks in progress

I have three pairs of socks in progress, but only have worked on two....I picked up the Kai-Mei and it has been so long since I worked on them (a bit intimidated by the lace section) and the fact that I really can't "read" knitting yet...I'm not sure where I am...need to figure it out...

On the other hand I have worked some more on my beaded camo one....this is the second sock, so I just need to finish it....

And I have worked some of the Hermione's Everyday socks....the cuff seems to be taking FoReVeR!!!

See that white behind the socks?  That would be our freshly fallen snow, which resulted in a SNOW DAY!!!! for me....I am very grateful for it, as I did go to the doctor yesterday and I have a sinus/double ear infection...gives me another day home....yeah!

I am still reading Pride and Prejudice, have about 100 pages to go....but I have also downloaded 3 new books in the past 2 days....so will get to them when I finish....

I hope everyone has a fantabulous day!

  1. hmmm, can't read knitting, but you are doing LACE and BEADED socks! LOL

Enjoy your day off to recoup AND knit!

  2. The cuff on the Hermione's Everyday Socks does take forever! I hated those twenty rows of ribbing but it was worth it in the end.

Random suggestion, only do 14-15 repeats of the pattern for the leg instead of the full 18, especially if you have larger than average feet. I did 12 repeats and it wasn't quite long enough for me and the going average is about 15 repeats. Just a thought :)

  3. 3 pairs! WOW! That's a lot of sock knitting. I LOVE Hermoine's Everday socks. They're my favorite I've knit so far. I think the longer cuff on them ends up being a huge asset in the long run, because it helps keep them from falling into your shoe.

  5. Every time I see someone else's sock project, I yearn to cast on a pair for myself. How lovely to have three warming up your needles. Sorry to hear that you're still under the weather ... get better soon!

  6. Love the Kai-mei socks and have those added to my favourites now. The cuff on the Hermiones socks does take forever but it gets better. I did 15 repeats on the pattern on Hermione and I find its just the right size, I think the 18 would have been way to long. I'm a total Pride and Prejudice nut, love it to pieces and its the only book I seem to re read over the years (I re read it at least once a year). Hope your enjoying it.
