Year of Projects - Week 9

Well, I skipped a week...I had no crafting mojo and I just couldn't be bothered.....

Between then and now....I started and finished a project...it's blocking now, so I'll have a "show you" on Wrapup Friday!

I bought some new yarn...I need to make some bunny rabbits....a friend's twin girls started a charity a couple years ago...they collect bunnies and donate them to a children's hospital and a women's shelter...This pattern is free until tomorrow, so I'll make a couple....and I also decided I needed to make a penguin....also the Hubs went shopping for some yarn for me to make him some mittens...*sigh*..he's got good taste...Malabrigo Rasta....

I started the first sleeve on my Stopover, but didn't get too far...need to get back to that...other than that....

Stitch Along Wednesday - Week 8

Hello there!  So how was your week?  I haven't worked on anything since last Thursday...when I started this...
I joined my friend, Maureen, in making the Jacinta capelet...we are making it in Malabrigo Rasta..

I was frustrated because I kept coming up a stitch short....didn't figure it out, but fudge something and now it's going along swimmingly....I did put a few minutes in on it Tuesday night before the blog..

I also spent Saturday finishing the third book in that series I was reading, Knit One, Pearl One.  On Sunday I bought the new Clara Parkes.....read one chapter, so far..

So anything new with you???  As always, please link back...thanks...

Stitch Along Wednesday - Week 7

We have had an exciting weekend of weather!  It ended with an unexpected Snow Day today....although it is now in the 50's, this morning we had about 3 inches of snow and about a half inch of ice on top of it....it didn't warm up fast enough to melt things...so Snow Day....

So what have you been doing?  As I posted on my YOP post, I did start a few projects...I've mainly spent time on my Stopover sweater and the new shawl I cast on Sunday night...

My Stopover, almost ready for sleeves...

And my Edgy Carol....

I actually think they complete each other quite well!
So what have you been up to this week?

After I finished this post, I checked the mail and I'd gotten the sock yarn I ordered from StrayCatSocks in New Zealand.....and I had to cast on! I ordered the kit, which came with dpns and a vanilla pattern.  Just doing my regular vanilla pattern, as hers was on 64 stitches and I need to do 56 stitches....so here it is...

The color is a little off...the dark color is a dark purple...looks more blue in this picture...

As always, please link back...thanks!

Year of Projects - Week 7

I have started two new projects this week, in addition to my Glenn Lives socks I started last week...*sigh*...but it has gotten me out of my mojoless rut!

Stopover...I joined the Bang Out a Sweater KAL with the Mason-Dixon ladies...
I have a couple of inches before starting the arms....I do want to make it longer, but I put in the slight shaping that it had (haven't done shaping before) but I don't think it'll matter...I did buy an extra ball of yarn....

And since Valentine's Day was coming up, I started this...
It's this free pattern...It's taking me a bit longer than I thought it would...

Whoops, just knocked down the zombies by my keyboard..
These are overflow The Walking Dead ones from my collection
Supernatural is on top, Walking Dead on the bottom....I'm searching for a Carol...

And so The Walking Dead comes back tonight....I am still working on my Glenn Lives socks...
But Desert Vista Yarn does a KAL when the season starts...so I think I'm going to cast on my If They Kill Carol tonight...
I have to wind it....I just bought this pattern for it...someone else had the idea to use it for this yarn...it is a four stripe, self-striping yarn....

I have one more day off.....was feeling rough today, really tired and ears are hurting...Yesterday I read...started a book at 5 in the morning and read all day....finished it and downloaded the third in the series and started that one....which may be why I am so tired today!  They are a series of books by Gil McNeil set in a seaside yarn shop in England...fun characters...the latest one should pop up in my sidebar Goodreads feed, if you are interested...

And that is it for me....catch you next week...

Wrap-Up Friday - Week 6

Good morning!  I have nothing "wrapped up" this week, but did start several new projects and that has helped bring the mojo back...

Did go to the doctor...and he said, "Yuck" when checking my ears...so am now on antibiotics....

I have a four day weekend...our February break...it's going to be bitterly cold...so not planning on doing much...have correcting to catch up on....

How was your week...any new "wrapups?"

Stitch Along Wednesday - Week 6

Happy Tuesday Night/Wednesday Morning!  How have you been this week?  I'm still feeling poorly, but have a doctor's appointment on Thursday and a 4 day weekend!  We no longer get a February break, just a 4 day weekend....On Monday we had an early dismissal and today a late opening because of snow....we are suppose to get more snow tonight into tomorrow...they are not sure how much.....February is always snow-crazy!

So WEBS was PACKED on Sunday!  We didn't end up staying....we shopped and then left....I did get my yarn for my Stopover and started it!

So the Raspberry is the main body color....I'm a big girl, so I was limited on what colors they had enough of for my size....but I went with a color that is not in my wardrobe much, but I will wear...I am NOT afraid of wearing color...
That's me in the yellow...
in bright green, with Clara Parkes

Although I do have an amazing amount of grey in my wardrobe too.....the only colors I don't wear are pastels and peachy tones, cuz they look terrible on me....

So I started it...
So far two new techniques for me...two colors in one row...and a bit of shaping....

I also bought yarn for the Baa-ble hat, although I have some old Jamieson packed away, I may use that if I have the right colors...
These are Cascade Heathers....I adore heathered yarn!

Oh and I got my partners for Fibreshare! Yeah!

Okay what are you up too?  I'm gonna go watch another episode of Walking Dead and work on my Glenn Lives sock and then head to bed....

As always, please link back...thanks! Oh I enabled comment moderation, as I got a few weird comments last week...

Year of Projects - Week 6

Yes, I am still struggling with working on my WIPs, but I started a new project and that helped a bit...
Glenn Lives
I also have worked on my Stripey Vanilla Mitts and I put a great deal of time yesterday into Willow Fields...it is almost at the decrease point....I really want this for spring...
I put a few rows, here and there on other projects....

we finally had a snow day, but I'm also fighting being sick...trying to head off the sinus infections they always turn into...more snow is predicted this week, as it's only a four day week anyway, not sure how many days we will get in...all the previous snow has fallen on the weekends...

Today I am heading up to WEBS for a few hours...they have a Superbowl pre-show event...They are not usually open on Sundays...should be fun...

Stash Acquisition Saturday

I joined two new clubs....one is for three months and it is a self-striping yarn club from Quaere Fibre, Rustic Succelent
She gave a sneak peek in her group on Ravelry...and while not a color I probably would have picked, I'm fine with it...

Then I joined Mad Color Mad Posse Club for the year....It's a Bad A$$ Women's Club...first up
Agent Peggy Carter...

Not sure I ever showed my Desert Vista Dyeworks skeins...She does an If They Kill series based on the characters...

If They Kill Carol
If They Kill Abraham
and I cast on my If They Kill Glenn
I received my Nerd Girl Random Fandom and am IN LOVE with it...I may have to cast this on right away!
The Goblin King....look at those sparkles!!!!

Tomorrow I am heading to WEBS for their pre-Superbowl event....I am planning on buying some yarn to cast on a sweater for the Bang out a Sweater KAL at Mason Dixon Knitting.

So I know I'll have some more to show...but I'm going to try and not buy too much for the next two months...end of April is the Connecticut Sheep and Wool....

How about you?

Wrap-Up friday - Week 5

I almost forgot to write a post....but then a snow day was called and I got up to post this....

So I am still struggling with no crafting mojo and WIP burnout....so nothing on the crafting front for me...

I haven't been reading either, *sigh*

I did buy
so I may succumb to coloring today...I love folk art!

And well, I guess my work week is wrapped up....I'm still not feeling great, so going to eat something quick, take some medicine and head back to bed...Happy Friday all!

Stitch Along Wednesday - Week 5

So, I started something new....needed a palette cleanser, so to speak...and a mindless project, hence my Glenn Shall Live socks...yarn is by Desert Vista Dyeworks, in her If They Kill series...
I'm still looking for a Carol..
I hope to have them finished by the time TWD returns on Feb 14....

Today I came home from work early...I knew when I woke up that I should have called in sick..the coughing and sneezing were fine, but the splitting headache wouldn't go away....and it was hard to concentrate, let alone try to teach something....but many of my students have been out sick, so I knew it was a matter of time...

It's one of the bad things about not having a February break anymore...they used to clean the school during that time...so now the illnesses linger.....and our weather is not helping me...I always get sick when there is a drastic weather change...going from the 20's to the 50's has not helped....and it's going to get cold again...

So what are you up to?  Anything new?  Do you have to palette cleanse also?
