Stitch Along Week 44

Okay...what a crappy Halloween.....NYC....I just have no words......I also had my infusion today...well, I was suppose to...two blown veins and going back on Friday...the past two times I've had trouble with it......I don't do well with needles and having to have it done multiple times is very stressful.....I've been home since about 4:30 and I'm just waiting to go to bed...

I did not get my Stash Acquisition Post up on Saturday...I was absolutely buggered.....this weekend is the final festival..Fiber Festival of New England in Springfield, MA.  I think this is the sixth year.  I'm staying the weekend with a friend and helping her break down her booth on SUnday...I'll post pics on Instagram.....

So what have I worked on?   a little bit of this, a little bit of that.....let's see what I have pictures of...
Sweater has a second sleeve started...it's father along than this picture....
Finished sock one and started sock two....

That's about it....how about you?   What have you worked on?  It'll be a day or two before I can knit again, because of the blown veins....

Stitch Along Wednesday - Week 43

Just throwing the link up today....Have posted two days of Rhinebeck pictures....yes I have WIP pictures, but they are terrible....so not going to post any....but take a look at Rhinebeck Day 1 and Rhinebeck Day 2

Let me know what you are working on....

Rhinebeck 2017 - Day 2

Day 2's haul....minus one object......so let's get started.....

I went to the MDK pie party Saturday night at Kristy Glass's house.....now, TBH, I didn't know who she was. but then again, I don't watch too many podcasts.....I'll have to check her out.....her house was GORGEOUS!!!! And she had lots of green...THE BEST COLOR!
And look!
There was lots of pie...I had cherry, it was so good!  And I am again in a picture on the MDK blog! I'm sitting in one of the rocking chairs on her porch, in the picture scroll at the top.
A wall of speckles from Into the Whirled!

This was a crocheted version of the shawl.
I bought a kit for the Blackbird poncho...I love it.....

So I was walking by the author's table and saw a name I recognized....Kathy Shea? From high school?  Yep!  She wrote a book about raising chickens...
So I just wandered most of Sunday...I went through all the barns...I was looking for goat's milk soap, but didn't find a bunch...did pick up a few from here...

The pumpkin smells SO GOOD!  I also got a sheep....
I watched thesheep parade, it was a lot of fun.......but my favorite purchase of the day...was this...
And that's a wrap on Rhinebeck 2017!!!

Rhinebeck 2017- Day 1

So Rhinebeck 2017 has come and gone (this will be a longish post with pictures).  This year I went up on Friday and stayed in an airbnb for the first time.  Someone I know had an extra room...it was a bargain, $80 for the weekend....but it was out in the middle of  a lot of land and hard to find in the dark.  We were told to find the willow tree.....well it's pitch black, so can't see the willow tree....
willow tree in the morning
The place was charming, a bit rustic, but nothing too bad....and it had some beautiful scenery.

I forgot to buy tickets before hand, so I had to wait on line..it wasn't too long a wait....
I passed the llama corral on the way to the bathroom....so majestic..
Spent some time with some Gotlands....they just have the most beautiful fleece....

Look at that fleece, beautiful grey with almost an auburn.  She said that he is young and he hasn't turned full grey yet....
Then I had to stop by Burgis Brook Alpacas to give Alisa a hug.....and be photobombed by a styrofoam head!
Lots of people!  It was so packed!  Many people started the day with their sweaters on, but they were quickly shed.....

The top part of the second picture shows just how packed it was.....
My friend, Maureen (whom I usually go with) came with her daughter and a friend, Diane (not pictured)...I met up with them for part of the morning.

Time for yarn porn....

Then I met up with my friend Lori for a bit...we both bought at Spirit Trail Fiberworks..she got yarn for octopus mittens...I got yarn for Beatha
She had to squoosh down pretty far to take that picture..LOLOL
That's Beatha at the top of the yarn...the octopus mitten is just out of the picture on the right.
Lori had to leave after just a bit, so I wandered around by myself. Stopped at Mayan Hands and picked up a couple of things...
The purple bag is made from plastic bags!!!!! It is also Fair Trade and helps Mayan women artists.  The family lore is that my great-great grandmother, Isobel was Mayan.  She was living in Mexico when she met my grandfather.  When I had my DNA done, it did say I was 5% Native American/Mexican.....also my Spanish teacher named me Isabel...so I now have this strange connection to her...I know she had a sad life, but not much else.....

More yarn porn

Loved this double knitted scarf!
I snagged a skein of that light pink/lavendar color from Peace, Love & Yarn...I happened to have my Peace, Love, Yarn shirt on that day, so had to get a skein!
Day 1 haul:

Sorry, kind of dark.....I may do a Saturday Acquisition Post with hopefully better pictures....the purple fluff in the top left is a pom-pom.....that was the end of Day 1....

Stitch Along Wednesday: Week 42

Well it's the Wednesday before Rhinebeck.....and I'm not going to have anything done for Saturday....On Sunday realized my Slopes was just going to be too warm....temperatures in the 70's...I have one sleeve and the yoke to go...
So picked up my Meandering Top, because it's a fancy "tank top"  Worked on it for quite a bit, well after ripping out ALL the short rows and restarting, because I had no idea where I was in the pattern....was home today with a flareup....but still don't think it'll be done....
I have separated the front and back, but I have to fiddle with numbers and just not sure I'm up for that....it is bigger than I expected, my fault..loose knitter...not sure I did a gauge swatch...anyhow....I'll finish it at some point.....so maybe just a hat at Rhinebeck...sigh.....if you're there...say hi!

And oh....so freaking excited!  My friend linked me to the Mason-Dixon post this morning and I'm in there!  With my Rhinebeck sweater from last year! She didn't know my name, but I tagged MDK in my very excited Instagram post and she then added our names in (I also left a comment on the post) and now MDK is following me on Instagram!!!!!! I'll see them Saturday night, as I'm attending the Pie Party!

So how has your projects been going? Please share....
