Stash Acquisition Post

Haven't done one in a couple of weeks and have some stash to share....some of it has already been shared in other posts...
This is Malabrigo Arroyo in Sunset for the Beekeeper Cardigan KAL....Such a perfect color for it..looks like a dark honey color....

I stopped in at a LYS that had moved locations and picked up a couple of skeins...
It's Urth Uneek Fingering.  It self stripes, but is also a gradient...Can't wait to see how it works up.
I'm not usually attracted to blues, but this skein intrigued me...It's Araucania Huasco Sock...the lady at the shop was using it, so showed me how it knitted up...not sure what I'm going to do with it yet...maybe a baby sweater...

I already showed the yarns from the recent Shop Hop here and my Fibreshare package here

So I don't think I ever showed my acquisitions from the New Hampshire Sheep and Wool.  I didn't take a ton of pictures...
Natural mohair from Red Cardinal Farm
Fiber Stash Twinkle Toes in Potluck
Worsted in It Never Ends, which I used for my friend's Hope hat
Merino Worsted in Bushel....I plan to use the rest of the pink and this skein to make a cowl for that same friend...
Flying Finn Yarn in Lichen

I bought this...and then had to go back and get some more...
I'm not sure what I'm doing with this, but gosh I love it!!!!

And while I was typing this up...this arrived in the mail..
Nomadic Yarns Self Stripe in Hermione....I bought this for a specific pattern that I fell in love with!
Hermione and Crookshanks

What about you? Any recent stash acquisitions?

Stitch Along: Week 25

Good morning!  Late morning, but still morning.....I am enjoying my vacation, so far....although we have a heat wave coming in tomorrow for 8 days....I'll be holed up in the bedroom, as it's the only room with air conditioning.....

Spent a great day yesterday with friends and colleagues at a friend's beach house...
It was a nice relaxing day...I did work a bit on the Sockhead hat...
It's getting there......

The past couple of days, I've also been looking at my WIPs....my Carlos and Arne sock was frustrating, as I'd put it on a 9 inch circular and it kept dropping stitches, so Monday night I put it back on Karbonz DPNs (I think I started it on them)...I also started the second sock....
I don't think they are going to match up though....

I also cast on my Koigu Colourscape Cowl

I have serious caston-it-is, but I am controlling it, as I have the Beekeeper Cardigan cast on in a few days....and I'd like to get the heels done on all those socks.....So how about you, what have you done this past week?

2018 I91 Shop Hop

Last year I did all the stores, from the Connecticut coast up to Vermont.  This year I was only interested in doing a couple.  I've bought a ton of yarn the last couple of months and I was coming off of a sinus infection, so wasn't feeling the best.  I was going to go on Friday by myself, but then decided to text my friends Maureen and Diane to see if they'd be interested in going on Saturday...Yep!

Our first stop was at Marji's Yarncrafts in Granby, CT.....I wanted to stop there, as I don't go here often, but always enjoy her displays when I do...plus the Koigu!!!
The shop is packed with it, but she has much more....her displays are really great....she makes use of her space.  I only took a couple of quick pictures...
Displays work!  I bought the yarn to make that Teddy Sweater by Terri Kruse.  I have two babies I need to make sweaters for....so there you go....
So the two Malabrigo on the left are for the sweater.  The two skeins on the top are Regia Perfect Sock from Arne and Carlos (I really need to finish the other one of theirs) and that wreath in the middle?  It's in the second to last picture.  They had sets of these hanging from the ceiling.  Maureen and I both bought one. Diane already has it, so we are going to knit it together. It is for the Koigu Colourscape Cowl....so gorgeous!!! And I bought some FlexiFlips to try them out...

Then we took a sidetrip to Lyric Hill Farm.  We know Nancy from various festivals.  I had been to the farm once before...I needed soap....

We got up close and personal with a couple of the Alpine goats...she showed us her studio and we just chatted for about an hour...

Then...
I didn't take any pictures in WEBS, but I bought a bit....
The Galway I picked up at Northampton Wools.....we went into Northampton to grab something to eat....and stopped by Northampton Wools....I got the yarn for the I Care hat.....I'm really into the message hats....

I bought the Amaranto kit..that was my big purchase.  The Hubs had liked it when we were up there a couple weeks ago...I came into a bit of money, so I splurged on it....The yarn is Manos Del Uruguay Silk Blend....I think it'll be something I wear a lot!!!!

I also picked up some baa ram ewe dovestone dk, just to try it....It was in the backroom....

and of course, I never leave WEBS without some MadTosh.....got Tosh Merino Light in Silence was Golden, Cosmic Silver and Cactus Flower, maybe for a Color Affection?
We ended the day at Local Burger, where Diane indulged in a Captain Crunch Hot Dog!
Diane has lived a sheltered life, she was married at 16!  She is now going out and exploring  and trying new things. Although she is still not online at all, but I applaud her for getting out of her comfort zone and being willing to try new things....

Year of Projects: Week 25

Good morning, or well, afternoon....I am binge watching Westworld at the moment.  I've binged a couple of Netflix shows this week, too.....

So I haven't really worked on much but the Sockhead hat...I am finally past the 4" of ribbing and onto the 7" of straight knitting (or stockinette in the round)...it's on size 1 or 2.25mm needles, so will take awhile...I'm about at 3"

I also decided to join in the Beekeeper KAL from Olive Knits...and I did a gauge swatch....I am going to LOVE this cardigan!!!  It is a four day challenge starting on July 1...
It's Malabrigo Arroyo in Sunset....Jimmy Beans Wool had it on sale....

And I also swatched for the Tegna sweater/teeshirt!!!  Can you believe it?  I never swatch, but two in one day!!!
This is Sweet Georgia Tough Love Sock in Magician...

I have not cast it on yet though......I did do the I91 Shop Hop, just a few stores...I'll post about that tomorrow...

So I think that is it for this week...see you all next week...

Around the World Afghan: (April 2010): about ¼ done - I looked at this recently and I'm still liking it, so I'll keep it...maybe make it a baby blanket instead.

Vanilla fingerless mitts (12/25/15) - Think I'm going to frog and do different mitts or crochet them.

Fibreshare Package

This is either the third or fourth time I've done Fibreshare...I love swaps and this one is great....I received an awesome package from Katie of Homespunwonders in Yorkshire, England.

The box was wrapped in pretty butterfly paper.

Lots of fun wrapped packages with clues written on them...and something made the box smell YUMMY!!

The whole package!  3 skeins of yarn! A hat and a project bag! Some fun extras!

A tin full of treasures!  A Fibreshare pin and a fun, I think it's a macron cookie pin...and buttons..
When I found out my partner was a yarn dyer, I was hoping I'd get a skein of her yarn.  She said me a skein of her alpaca blend..SO SOFT!!!!!! It's a wonderful color called Clover...and it matches the bag that she also made for me!!!  Wonderful!
The skein on the left is Dye Candy...she said it was her favorite UK dyer! The color is "Lord of Misrule" The skein on the right is Truly Hooked in a Slytherin-inspired color called "Cunning." (I'm a Ravenclaw, but I love the Slytherin colors!) I'm hoping this is a self stripe!
The fun extras: A needle gauge from Katrinkles (I laughed when I saw this, since she ordered it and it had to go to England and then back here to New England...unless she got it at a store over there), a a ChiagoGoo 9" needle, hedgehog post-its! and what made the box smell so good! Some Lavender and Clary Sage soap....yum!!!!!!!
Love this!!!!  It's new notebook....I have a passion for notebooks...and have tons of empty ones because I can't stop buying them!!!!
And this fabulous hat in a tweedy mustard yarn...so in love!!!!!!!

Thank you Katie for an amazing package!!!!!!!
