Final Stash Acquisition Post of 2017

So it's been awhile since I did an update....I actually have quite a bit to post, so picture heavy! It is darker here, so hopefully the pictures won't be too crappy

Rhinebeck Haul: I never did a proper Rhinebeck Stash Update
Spirit Trail Fiberworks in Painted Hills, Roussillon and Blue Suede Shoes for Beatha

Harvest Yarns Maize....label is faded and one is missing, so no colorways, but 32% corn fiber!
Neighborhood Fiber Co Studio DK in Pentworth, with a fun pompom.....This will be a hat, not sure which one yet....
Lisa Souza Blue Faced Leicester Worsted in Marionberry.....it looks almost black...it is a really, really dark purple....
Blackbird Kit from Ewetopia...I really love this, but reading the pattern, I'd have to steek...eeek!!!!!!
White Barn Farm in Blue Jay...there was a reason I bought this, but can't remember why now....
Peace, Love and Yarn in Kestral.  I'm not usually a pink girl....I was wearing a shirt with this saying and there was just something about this pink...it was so soft and pretty.

Some yarny goodness came in the mail too.....From Must Stash Yarn
Left to Right: Star Wars: Mos Eisley, Rogue One, Jakku, The Last Jedi

Black Friday trip to NYC....we went to String Thing Studio in Brooklyn..
The Backyard Fibers is for a Rainbow Party Cardi...
I also got some Juniper Moon Moonshine for the body of Telja or Starfall, maybe..I might switch these around, but was going to use other alpaca yarns for the colorwork....

Then we stopped at Knitty City and bought these two....

From my hometown LYS, New England Yarn and Spindle, I have bought several skeins of Cascade 220 for baby hats....
Okay, this is not it, but there is so much more and this will be too long, and I'm not sure many people will read it....so.....I'm going to end it here.....

Christmas Day 2017

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate....Happy Monday to those who don't.......

We spent a quiet day at home.  We exchanged a few small things...but with buying the house and having to replace Larry's truck (and now I have to replace my iphone battery!), we decided not to get much for each other....but I love opening gifts, so Larry said to get a few small things.....

But it was
very icy...that reflection is all ice!  I was able to run out on Sunday to pick up a few things.....I also made him his "warmies" I've made these slippers before for him, but this time I made them with Malabrigo Rios....he is a Malabrigo fan....
Two strands held together...the colors are Diana and Plumo......

I also made him a headband/earwarmer from some Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted (which I love!) in Cermak.....
I am also making him a cowl, inspired by Jessica Jones, but it's not done yet.....

We woke to a white Christmas!
This was me in school on Thursday....
and I found this wrapping paper....and thought there was a resemblance
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!  Have a great day!

Stitch Along - Week 50

Okay...so, even though I posted last week, I did not provide a link...and I was a week off on the week count....sigh......

My ear is making me crazy, it crackles and bubbles contantly!  This is something new....I told the ENT doctor (who by the way, is young and very nice looking!) and he didn't seem to be worried about it....but it's driving me NUTS! Although it is not painful, just irritating.....

So all Saturday, I worked on a newborn hat...
I think it's big enough for a two year old....sigh.....I'm going to finish it and give it to a friend....I also missed a line in the chart.....

Then, on Sunday, I worked on some fingerless mitts for a gift.....
This is the second go-around, because AGAIN...it was way too big!!!

It was not a successful weekend......and I needed to take yesterday off to rest my hands.....

Next week, we work M-W and a half day on Thursday...my student teacher's last day is Friday.....it will be a big adjustment.....but kind of looking forward to it......

So did you have some positive project experience this week?  Please let me know....

Stitch Along - Week 48

Dudes!  I am so sorry I skipped last week!  I didn't remember until almost 8 pm EST...oh well....

I finished my sweater!  I have worn it so much already!  It is exactly what I wanted...a "bang-around" sweater that I can just throw on....
I have been working on a variety of socks....these are the closest to being finished....in that sock 1 is done and working on sock 2...was able to put about an inch on today at the doctor's office...yes, I'm a 49 year old woman, who is probably getting tubes in my ears....yeesh!  I have Eustachian Tube Disability....but it explains the many, many ear infections I've had...have to get a hearing test first..and couldn't book that until the end of January...
I have a baby shower tomorrow...got the hat done....working on the sweater, she'll get that later...
The color is more true in the second picture......They are the Elephant Nation patterns by Gabrielle Danskknit....I have decided I do love colorwork....

So what about you?  What have you been up to the past two weeks? Please share...

Stitch Along Week 46

Good evening...really quick one, as it's bedtime....I've just been plugging along on my Slopes Sweater....
I've got about 20 rows to go...the eyelet yoke is a bit wonky....but I can't wait to wear it.....it's actually the project that is in the basket on top....

Tomorrow is a half day and then 4 days off...yeah! What are you busy working on?

Stitch Along Week 46

Good evening my lovelies!  I am ready to go to bed, so want to make sure I get this up....this week is Parent Teacher conferences, but it is also Spirit Week (yeah, I have no idea who decided that!) Anyway Twin Day was Monday
My student teacher, a fellow third grade teacher and me.....We all love Harry Potter!

Today was Cartoon Character Day...I didn't dress up....although I had some tee shirts, I went with some wooly goodness....
Zuzu's Petals in Freia Handpaints, Zauberball socks in my new, so AWESOME Taos boots....and my upcycled skirt from BHUpcycle....I bought my first skirt from her last year at FFNE...I now own four! (She lives in my town!)

Yes, I'm standing next to the tree that was knocked down by the windstorm on Friday...yep right on top of my husband's truck...
yeah.....almost three years to the date, when the tree fell on the garage squashing my car inside...We have NO trees on our property...they are all neighbor's trees, but an "act of nature" so they are not liable....(two trees....two different neighbors)

So the chainsaw was out, to cut up the tree. The Hubs put it on a shelf, so it was out of the way....and I went to look for something in the tub under the shelf and stood up...and yet, cut my head on the chainsaw...
I had a headache for awhile.....

But in crafting news.........I have sleeves!
They are attached to the body, but I haven't really started on the yoke yet....this weekend....

Tomorrow is Pajama Day (but no parent conferences) I have Owls.......

I hope your week was better than mine...please let me know what you have been doing....

So how are you? What have you been working on?  I've started a new pair of fingerless mitts, but not sure I worked on anything else....
I have been carrying around more projects than actually working on them....So, please link up, if you have something to share....

Stitch Along Week 44

Okay...what a crappy Halloween.....NYC....I just have no words......I also had my infusion today...well, I was suppose to...two blown veins and going back on Friday...the past two times I've had trouble with it......I don't do well with needles and having to have it done multiple times is very stressful.....I've been home since about 4:30 and I'm just waiting to go to bed...

I did not get my Stash Acquisition Post up on Saturday...I was absolutely buggered.....this weekend is the final festival..Fiber Festival of New England in Springfield, MA.  I think this is the sixth year.  I'm staying the weekend with a friend and helping her break down her booth on SUnday...I'll post pics on Instagram.....

So what have I worked on?   a little bit of this, a little bit of that.....let's see what I have pictures of...
Sweater has a second sleeve started...it's father along than this picture....
Finished sock one and started sock two....

That's about it....how about you?   What have you worked on?  It'll be a day or two before I can knit again, because of the blown veins....

Stitch Along Wednesday - Week 43

Just throwing the link up today....Have posted two days of Rhinebeck pictures....yes I have WIP pictures, but they are terrible....so not going to post any....but take a look at Rhinebeck Day 1 and Rhinebeck Day 2

Let me know what you are working on....

Rhinebeck 2017 - Day 2

Day 2's haul....minus one object......so let's get started.....

I went to the MDK pie party Saturday night at Kristy Glass's house.....now, TBH, I didn't know who she was. but then again, I don't watch too many podcasts.....I'll have to check her out.....her house was GORGEOUS!!!! And she had lots of green...THE BEST COLOR!
And look!
There was lots of pie...I had cherry, it was so good!  And I am again in a picture on the MDK blog! I'm sitting in one of the rocking chairs on her porch, in the picture scroll at the top.
A wall of speckles from Into the Whirled!

This was a crocheted version of the shawl.
I bought a kit for the Blackbird poncho...I love it.....

So I was walking by the author's table and saw a name I recognized....Kathy Shea? From high school?  Yep!  She wrote a book about raising chickens...
So I just wandered most of Sunday...I went through all the barns...I was looking for goat's milk soap, but didn't find a bunch...did pick up a few from here...

The pumpkin smells SO GOOD!  I also got a sheep....
I watched thesheep parade, it was a lot of fun.......but my favorite purchase of the day...was this...
And that's a wrap on Rhinebeck 2017!!!
