Year of Projects - Week 11

Good morning, my fine fellow Friends in Fiber!!!!!

I skipped last week, well just because, I didn't feel like getting on the computer...I have tried scheduling posts, but they never seem to actually post....so I have to physically get on the computer...and the tablet is a pain in the arse to try and do a blog post on....so well....there it goes...

I have been somewhat fibery busy this week...still having a bit of Startitis....
So I decided I NEEDED to start something with my Luck of the Irish yarn from The Cyborg's Craft Room...it had previously started life as a sock....it was frogged.....so here is my Irish Oak....It is the Oaklet Shawl pattern....
You can see where the "new" or fresh yarn starts......the stitches are much more clear....

I also worked a bit on my capelet...

I also put in some time on my Zombie Vixens....but here's the problem...
They are suppose to be fingerless and the thumb is just starting....plus they are a bit wide....the pattern is one size to fit most people...I have teeny, tiny hands....but GAH!!!!!  The thought of ripping back any cables!!!!!  I don't do cables easily.....

Much nicer news are my Vanilla mitts...

So how was your week of projects?

Love the yarn in the oaklet shawl and I love the colours in the zombie mittens, with that much cable and still being too wide I'm not sure how you'd avoid not frogging, sounds like you could do with going down a needle size or two for your petite hands. I do love the vanilla mitts love the ribbing and stripes together.

I'm doing this and that, but nothing really serious. I might knit a sweater for my husband for next winter. :-)

Okay, you're totally going to feel like a jackass for this: your hand is going in your Zombie Vixen the wrong way, based on what I can see in the photo. You start knitting on the cuff, not the fingers. I made them....either last year or the year before....with that said, try them on again with your hand going in the other way and it should be fine.

As for the widness thing....you could slough off some of the stitches from the stockinette part but you'd have to rip back to do it and that could be messy.

I love all your yarn choices. Maybe you could gift the fingerless mitts to someone with bigger hands? Love the stripey ones.

I bet that the differences in the old and new yarn in the shawl will pretty much vanish with blocking. So nice to be working with fresh spring greens!

Love the stripe-y mitts!

I love the Vanilla Mitts! The Zombie Vixen mitts look like you have it on upside down. Could it be? They just look bizarre - I mean who has has fingers that long? They do look cool, though. I hope you're able to fix the situation without too much frustration.

I agree with Ruth. You have going to have to frog the cabled mitts and try again with a smaller needle. The vanilla mitts look great. Your shawl color is so pretty and fresh looking. Good week for you.
