Stitch Along Week 5
Good evening! I've seemed to have lost most of my readers and linkers to this....but I'm going to keep plugging along....
I haven't worked on much this weekend, just keep on keeping with the Jessica Jones cowl..no new picture, as it pretty much looks the same....
So, I think, except for a few rows on some socks that is about it for me...I did pick up the baby sweater again, but also no new picture...so I'm pictureless this week....
So how about some funnies?
Full disclosure, I can't actually get on them at work...and I don't even take a project to work, as during plan time and lunch..that's what I do...too little time in a teacher's day....but I think it's funny...and I am SO distracted by self stripe yarn right now....
Hahahahaha....see you next week!

Year of Projects: Week 4
2018 Finished Projects:
Millennial Slytherin Mitts - Jan 6, 2018
KG AMi - Jan 10, 2018
Shamrock Hat - Jan 20, 2018
Snowflake Hat - Jan 20, 2018
So I worked on some baby hats. I am making several for the daughter of a work colleague. Her daughter worked in our school as a substitute for awhile and she and I became friendly. So I've now made her three hats..her mom had the idea of a calendar of hats, which I thought was cool!
I am still working on the Jessica Jones cowl and I also picked up the Elephant Reserve sweater again....
I have been dealing with several medical issues and I realized last week that I was also suffering from some anxiety and depression...since one of the issues is peri-menopause, which can cause anxiety and depression..along with the auto-immune disease I have..it was a double whammy....but funnily enough, after giving voice to it and talking to a couple of people, I feel so much better...I feel lighter and just relieved...but I will keep track, now I am more aware.....
As I said on Saturday's post, I have given up all of my yarn clubs....but today, gave in and ordered some self-stripe I saw...I think I may do a self stripe post...or maybe a video blog about them....we'll see....
Works In Progress:
WIPS: Crochet:
Round Ripple: (Started 2006 (?) Aiden)-not sure he'd want this anymore, being a high school freshman and all, but I think I'll finish it for him. He is now a sophomore.
Around the World Afghan: (April 2010): about ¼ done - I looked at this recently and I'm still liking it, so I'll keep it...maybe make it a baby blanket instead.
Sunrise Sunset Afghan: this has been hibernating awhile, 6 squares done. I still love the look of this.
Tabard Tunic (NW Diss 2/1/14) - Haven't made a final decision on this yet.
Throwback Poncho 2/19/17
Fortune's Shawlette - 5/20/17 - Finished ball 2
Knit:
Learn to Knit Afghan: (started 2010): 3 squares done, I put this in the giveaway yarn bags..not thrilled with colors....will use squares at school for water bottles..
Shark in the Woods (11/27/14)- I really love this, but it's a lot of cabling and I'm not a fan..about 1/2 done.
Vanilla fingerless mitts (12/25/15) - Think I'm going to frog and do different mitts or crochet them.
Zombie Vixen mitts (10/17/15)- why I may crochet the others...have these and still working on them, again cabling
Garter Path Shawlette (5/30/16)- I have frogged this a couple of times...
Swinging with Winkle (6/4/16)- I love this so much! Just need to finish it! Added a few rows
Meandering Top (5/20/16) - Totally forgot about this...could get it done to wear in spring...I think I was debating whether to do the bottom ruffle...it's not a good placement for me...
Multnomah (8/21/16)- stuck on feather and fan edging, have too many stitches, in timeout. Stitch count continues to be off.
Bulky Cowl - this hurts my hands to work on...think I need slippery needles...
Blue Wave - 1/15/18
Socks:
Kai-Mei: (April 2012) - has not changed,
Carlos and Arne socks (July 3 2015)- using a 9" needle...keep losing stitches.
Espalier Socks (Jan 10, 2016) - started and stopped...Folding Chairs - (2/17/17) - Her Story plain vanilla
Just Keep Swimming - (6/16/16)
Hudson Bay Socks - (6/21/17)
Muertos - 8/13/17
Twas the Night - 12/24/17
Splashy Flowers: (May 2011) - add a motif scarf, don't see that being finished soon...
Light in Shadows (1/14/14) - I love this so much...need to start the new direction, so need to sit down and figure it out..
Willow Fields (9/6/14) - ran out of yarn, waiting on yarn
My Shelly Valentine (2/10/16) - should finish for this year's Valentine's Day, yeah, that did not happen
Sea Glass (4/13/17) - a Zauberball shawl
Bags:
KAL/CALs:
Fire and Blood (5/4/14) - not anytime soon
Outlander MKAL (8/8/14) - possibility of finishing this..the yarn is so yummy

Stash Acquisition Saturday #2
So this is my second of the year....I don't think I'll have quite as many this year....I have given up ALL my yarn clubs! GASP! Not saying I won't join a limited one this year, but I have no yearly ones planned....I'm sure I'll be purchasing throughout the year, in fact I have two upcoming events on February 10....and since I follow so many indie dyers, I'm sure I'll be purchasing more online.....but here goes...
MudPunch in Concrete Bed Self Striping. I've been wanting to get some Mudpunch for awhile....just need to wind this up...
Last of my BAMF club....Admiral Holdo...I haven't actually seen the latest movie yet.....but I love this color!
The Expanse by Pandia's Jewels....I met Julia during the Pie Party on Rhinebeck weekend and have been looking to buy some of her yarn...I do have one of her Llamacorn project bags....
And a closer look of my purchases from VK Live...
Lollipop Yarn in Happy Weekend...I spotted this on a vendor's counter on the way out...Lollipop Yarn did not have a booth...so happy to try this!
Backyard Fibers Works in a worsted...this is for my Blue Wave hat....
Some more Backyard Fiber Works in a fingering...this is to go with some minis I bought for a cardigan
Rauma for some Selbu Mittens......
and from Destination Yarn, some New York inspired minis.....
Do you have some stash acquisition? Would you like to link up and share?

Stitch Along, Week 4
Good morning! I am home sick today....so I figured I'd post today....
I have made a couple of baby hats, which I'll post on Friday....other than that, I've been working on the same two projects...
The Jessica Jones cowl...sorry for the picture quality...took them in bed.....I have just started on the second skein of Malabrigo Rios....it's the linen stitch, which I love the look of, but takes forever!
And my Folding Chairs socks...almost to the second heel....trying to get my 11 sock WIPs under control before I cast on any others....but not sure that will happen! I did buy a box at Michaels for my Box O' Socks for the Yarngasm podcast. They all have to be new socks, so trying to clear out the WIPs....
I'm watching the Alienist right now, as Monday I was exhausted and went right to bed....I read the book a long time ago...and really enjoyed it..so hoping to really like the show...to be honest, I don't remember a lot of the details...as it was so long ago....
So how about you? What are you working on? Feel free to link up...

Vogue Knitting Live NYC 2018
I went again this year with my friend, Maureen. This was our second time going, we didn't go last year and I've been once by myself.....
On the train...I didn't knit much, as my hands have been giving me some trouble.....
It was very, very cold walking from Grand Central to the hotel...if you have never been in a city, when wind is ripping down the tunnels created by the tall buildings...it is an experience!!!! It was really windy and really cold!! Brrrrrr....
After waiting on line for the coat check, then we waited on line to register......so many excited people! I saw Gail Zucker...she is a photographer from Connecticut....I've met her several times....
There were two floors of the marketplace and then a third floor is set aside for artists to show how they use fiber/yarn in the arts.....
I will say that VKLive is ALWAYS crowded! The space is not really large and there are so many people packed into it! I'm just going to post some pictures and I'll comment, if needed!
The popular Fringe bags....they don't appeal to me...same as I'm not collecting all the enamel pins....I do like pins, just not collecting like many people are.....Instead I went to the Chiagu booth and picked up a New York City bag, with pigeons as the inside fabric...How Perfect!!!!! Picture at end...
Look at that poncho/hoodie hybrid! I loved it!
A fashion show was going on and we couldn't get down this aisle....
Kristy Glass....I had to go back, as I gave her the amigurami, but forgot to take a picture....Debbie at Backyard Fiber works and Kelly from the Do Ewe Knit? booth...I really need to get to this store in New Jersey..maybe this summer....
The amigurami exhibit on the 7th floor.....and I asked how to pronounce it correctly...by Resobox
Some favorites Going Gnome! They are dyeing yarn in a kettle!!!
At the Huck and Stuff display, we could try on the masks!
I'm sorry, I did not get this artist's name or grab his card...very cool "graffiti style" fiber artist
This was spectacular! It was very large.....
Then back to the shopping....
Tess Designer Yarns always amazes me with their array of greys....this time it was the greens that made me sigh....
Bye NYC, until next time.....and the haul...
