Stitch Along - Week 11

Céad míle fáilte ......

I am feeling good right now....took a nap when I got home from work....I usually take a nap when I get home, but this was a two hour doozy!  I did not sleep well last night, as the nap I took yesterday ended with a splitting headache that I could not get rid of....

So, I was planning on having my Irish Oak finished for Thursday...well that's not gonna happen....well it may be finished, but not blocked...so I may steam block it to wear....but I do have the matching nails going on....

Oh and those of you that may have stopped by on Sunday, saw this...
And I lamented on how they were too big....well Renee...told me I'd feel like a "jackass" (it's all good) because I had them on backwards!  Yep, she was right!
Hope you are having a splendid  (not jackassey) day.....

As always, please link back....see you next week...

Year of Projects - Week 11

Good morning, my fine fellow Friends in Fiber!!!!!

I skipped last week, well just because, I didn't feel like getting on the computer...I have tried scheduling posts, but they never seem to actually post....so I have to physically get on the computer...and the tablet is a pain in the arse to try and do a blog post on....so well....there it goes...

I have been somewhat fibery busy this week...still having a bit of Startitis....
So I decided I NEEDED to start something with my Luck of the Irish yarn from The Cyborg's Craft Room...it had previously started life as a sock....it was frogged.....so here is my Irish Oak....It is the Oaklet Shawl pattern....
You can see where the "new" or fresh yarn starts......the stitches are much more clear....

I also worked a bit on my capelet...

I also put in some time on my Zombie Vixens....but here's the problem...
They are suppose to be fingerless and the thumb is just starting....plus they are a bit wide....the pattern is one size to fit most people...I have teeny, tiny hands....but GAH!!!!!  The thought of ripping back any cables!!!!!  I don't do cables easily.....

Much nicer news are my Vanilla mitts...

So how was your week of projects?

Stitch Along Wednesday - Week 10

Evening my lovelies!  I have cast on something new...about an hour ago...earlier this evening, I decided I needed to cast on something with my Pot o' Gold yarn from the Cyborg's Craft Room.  I got it last year and started a sock with it...but it didn't work out...
So I frogged it a bit ago and decided tonight that I NEEDED to use that yarn RIGHT NOW...so I have started The Oaklet Shawl with it.....and now it is almost bedtime and I just want to knit on it...sigh....
So what are working on?  Anything new?  I can't seem to stay with one project...I have a put a few rows in on a couple of other things....but I think this will get the majority of my time.....

As always, please link back...thanks for stopping...

Stash Acquisition Saturday

I have stashed...again....

Berry Colorful Yarnings....Deep Rainbow

Cornbread and Honey....Enchanted Rainbow

Notice a theme?  I'm a sucker for rainbow yarn...a sucker, born right here this minute!

Second shipment of Quaere Fibre Self Striping Club....Hydrangea Love...

Latest Nerd Girl Random fandom.....There's A Snake in My Boot....Toy Story

and the recent swap I was in had some discount codes, so decided to try some of this yarn for myself...
Peepaloo Fields in Mother Nature

The ones on the left are to become penguins....we are studying penguins, so I feel the need to make one or two...on the right?  Those will become a couple of these

Some Malabrigo Rios...just because.....that's Ravelry Red...and Cirrus Grey

I found this box on the porch one day this week...I opened it and puzzled about it for a bit...I hadn't ordered any Malabrigo...there was no note or shipping invoice...where'd it come from.....

Finally the Hubs admits he bought the yarn and packaged it up and put it on the porch, as if it were delivered...he has requested some Malabrigo Rasta mittens...he actually went to the LYS and ordered the specific yarn....yep...he's a keeper...and thinks he's funny....

I'm heading to Northhampton for a bit...got to shop for a swap...and well I'm going to Springfield, so might as well head up there....so I'm sure I'll have some more acquisitions....

Oh, someone asked about the Glenn and Carol yarn...it is from Desert Vista Dyeworks...she has a whole If They Kill series.....it is dyed to order...but worth the wait...

WrapUp Friday - Week 9

I have a finish!!!!

Jacinta Capelet
I wore it today and received many compliments

The Deets:
Pattern: $6, but was gifted to me
One Size
Yarn: Malabrigo Rasta in Teal Feather
Amount: 3 full skeins
Modifications: I went down a needle size, I didn't do a gauge swatch, but I'm a loose knitter and was afraid I might run out of yarn.
I changed the amount of rows between decrease rows, mainly because I didn't pay attention to the first set...I also did not do 16 knit rows before bindoff, as there was not enough yarn...so it's a smidge shorterr, but because the yarn is more of a super bulky, it's not too bad.

Thoughts:  The neckline is a bit wide for me...I wish I had decreased one more row....but it does stay up.  It was comfortable to wear, not long enough to get in the way...

So how about you?  Any finished this week? Please link back...thanks...

Stitch Along Wednesday - Week 9

Hi ya' all.....how was your week?  I finished a project...yeah!!!!!  I think I only want to work in bulky yarn...things just finish up so quickly!!!!!

I put a little more length on my Stopover arm...but it's looking a bit wide, so don't think I'm going to increase anymore...I don't like tight arms, so I'm glad it'll be somewhat loose...just afraid of running out of yarn...
Sorry so dark

I also added a few rows to my Glenn Lives socks...which I'm hoping is true...and a few rows to my Edgy Carol....but there is not much difference in them...

Yesterday I was absolutely knackered....we had a field trip to a tech high school's culinary program to help make lunch...as our children will be running a one day restaurant in May....it was a great field trip...but exhausting....plus I'm heading into that time of life...and I guess one of the symptoms is being tired...that's not going to play well with my anemia, as I'm already tired a majority of the time...*sigh*

Anyway, I came home and took a 2.5 hour nap and still went to bed by 9:30 and slept through...very tired!

How was your week?  Wednesday is Read Across America Day and/or Dr. Seuss's birthday....I get to wear my Green Eggs and Ham shirt....yeah!   Do you have a favorite Dr. Seuss?  I enjoy Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat, etc...but I love Oh The Places You'll Go...and The Lorax....

As always, please link back...thanks!
