A Day Away

Today is the start of my "Fakation," because of the amount of snow days we had this year, they took three days of our Spring Break.....but we have a long weekend starting today....and so the Hubs and I headed north to Northampton for the day....and as soon as we got into town, we headed to Webs....

They are having a sale, so the Cascade was on sale, as well as the book and the patterns....I'm planning on a hat with the Cascade...I also bought some Fyberspates Scrumptious Aran, because I want to make Ysolda's Almond Comfit and that is the yarn she used and I wanted it in red...I saw the yarn right before I was getting ready to check out..so yeah me!  I also bought some yarn for a swap....Wilkey found some mohair he liked..but I told him no....

Then we walked around Northampton for awhile and I did pop into Northampton Wools and picked up 2 skeins of Madelinetosh tosh sock in Spectrum and Mansfield's Garden Party....yum!  Not sure about the Spectrum, but the Garden Party is destined to be a spring shawl.....any suggestions?....I'm thinking something with a solid center...then use a contrasting yarn for an edge...

Today I also tried Thai food for the first time....I am not an adventurous eater and tend to stick to the same ole, same ole....but the Hubs has wanted me to try Thai...I ended up getting Thai Pad....it was good, but sweet...I nibbled a bit on the Hubs food and it was way too spicy for me!
We are staying over, the first time we have..and we are going to head north tomorrow to a bakery we found last year...then head back home...

I like some Thai food. I can't handle the spicy, either, so I have to be careful what I select. I have the same problem with curry.

I like Thai food. Not all the dishes are spicy. Anyway, have a nice break! there are always yarn and yarn stores to cheer a gril up. Regula

That sounds like a perfect shortened spring break. I've never tried Thai before.
