The Day After the Round Ends....

Nerd Wars round 2 ended last night....I had not worked on my dissertation, the Creekbed for awhile...so I knitted pretty much all day yesterday....and after about 4, 400 stitches I am halfway through the pattern...
I have enough yarn to do the pattern repeat a couple of times, but I may not have the time....the tournament ends on Dec 28...although I will start my holiday break before that, so may have a bunch of time....
Although I may have messed up the counting...I have a sneaky suspicion, I'm going to love this a lot...

As I said the round ended on Thursday, so I  have done some power crafting this week...first up, I finally finished my Lucy hat....the new skein of yarn was a bit darker, so there is a kind of circle around the crown, but I can live with that...it almost looks planned....however the hat is still slightly big, s I may wet it and dry it to shrink it a bit...also the button I bought is too heavy for it...but until I can get another, it's going to stay on it...
Then I finished Mom's Lucy...and I may need one in these colors too....I totally messed up the band pattern on hers, but I just went with it...
Finally one of the challenges was to pay homage to the nerdery that started it all for you....and for me that was The Wizard of Oz....I had bought this yarn about 3 years ago because it reminded me of the Ruby Slippers...I had started a Yellow Brick Road with it, but the yarn was too thin...so I decided on a sparkly red headband...with a bow...
I did not finish my Katniss cowl/shawl in time for the movie...but I did finish off the practice "cowl" so I wore that on Friday to the movie...

Crappy shot....the movie was fantastic and I plan to go back and see it in IMAX, possibly this weekend...

So that is it for me...and yes I still want to CRAFT ALL THE THINGS!....as I still have 3 days before going back to work, we'll see what next week brings...

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday...I knitted, the Hubs cooked...it was perfect for me!

Joining up at Wisdom Begins in Wonder, Natural Suburbia , and Tami's Amis..And my first time linking up with I've Made Friday

I didn't even bother to attempt a dissertation this tourney. I've not finished one in quite some time. Love how yours is starting out. Your other projects are great too. I just took the kids to see Catching Fire this afternoon. LOVED all of the knitwear.
