Freshly Finished Friday #7

Good morning from the Arctic Northeast!  Yes it is currently 2 degrees, but with wind chill feels like -12 degrees....and tomorrow...must be Saturday, as we have another snow storm on the way!

So I have two finishes this week!  The first are my Stepping Stone socks...they are the first pair completed for the Love Your Library challenge....they are made with Malabrigo Rios...and are thick and squooshy!!!!!

The second project is Ita's shawl/Danae's cowl.  Ita is Danae's mom....Danae is one of my best friends...Ita passed away last week, after a battle with Alzheimer's...I had been making her a shawl for the nursing home....I wasn't sure what to do with it....I knew Danae would not wear a shawl...but Danae loves cowls...so I changed the shawl into a cowl and gifted it to Danae yesterday....I added buttons, instead of sewing the ends together, so she can wear it as a scarf, if she wants....
Yes, it's green...Ita's favorite color....

Eventually you'll see some not green projects on here....

So check out the other places for Friday Finishes....here, here, and here....

So sorry to hear about your friend's mum. The cowl is a lovely gift for her. The buttons are a great idea.

It was thoughtful to change the shawl into a cowl. I am sure Danaë appreciates it.

Love those greens! Stay warm up there. It looks like one of those awful winters for you.

I love green, so it doesn't bother me! I gifted a green cowl to a friend who lost her husband. She had admired the cowl when i was making it, so it just seemed like it should be hers. Is there magic in green cowls?

That cowl looks like it will be so soft and warm. What a wonderful gift for your friend. Hopefully it will bring her fond memories of her mother and how much she was loved.

Those Malabrigo socks look like the perfect thing for this stupid weather. It's been almost as cold in north Georgia as it has been for you. Just a lot less of the white stuff.
