7 Year Blogiversary!!!!!

Wow..7 years..I've loved blogging...and I've resisted all the other things that have come along...don't have a Twitter, Instagram, or Pinterest account.....there is only so much time in the day.....

I have made tons of blogging friends...and even have met some in real life....it is a joy and a privilege to know you....

Those of you that have followed along here know that I took a cross country trip this summer....and while I was at a yarn store in Chicago...I purchased this...
When I got home...I realized I already owned this....so I am going to give this away to a lucky reader..More than likely there will be additional goodies, but I'm not sure what yet...seeing as I am going to another fiber festival on Saturday....

It will be randomly drawn and open to anyone...one entry per person....see here's the thing...I want someone who has actually read my blog to win..not some random stranger who visits once to try and win a prize...so that's why I'm not asking people to reblog, facebook or tweet it for extra entries....while I love having readers...and having new readers, most of the time these people do not return (I am guilty of this too)...I want someone I "know" to win....

So entries will close Wednesday Oct 30 at 8:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.....

To enter..we all know how much I love yarn...so please introduce me to your favorite yarn....why is it your favorite..what have you made with it?

Good luck!

Favourite yarn has to be anything on Yarn vs Zombies - wispy.

It's a dream to work with. I just made a dragonfly shawl with it, and I have made a tesseract cowl with the same base. Mind you I haven't met a yarn of hers that I haven't loved. (And seeing as I just joined another of her yarn clubs I'm hoping I never do)

7 years is such an amazing time to blog for. I'm amazed that I've lasted 3 years. Although with such an awesome subject like knitting it's hard not to keep talking about it.

(And I figure that you probably won't post to Australia, that's ok - I'm not really entering, just congratulating you and telling you to check out yarn vs zombies. )

I figure if you'll post to Aussie then New Zealand is probably ok too.

My favourite yarn is Vintage Purls sock yarn. It's a long-lasting sock yarn that is dyed beautifully by one of our local artists. I love her laceweight as well, but it's not superwash which means if used for a cardigan it felts a little under the arms; however for shawls it's divine!
I've used the sock yarn for several pairs of socks for me and one pair for my husband. I will be making more, very soon.

My Favorite yarn is a Cashmerino Blend I found at an out of the way shop Long ago. I made a pair of gloves with it that I just love the feel of and it worked up so beautifully too.

I knit very basic things, that way I get to enjoy the fun without the stress of trying fancy stitches. I enjoy using silk/bamboo yarn, it has such a nice feel and the silk gives it a nice sheen.

Woo-hoo! Seven years! I've had a blog online since I was 15 or so but it's changed a lot over the years (content, platform, etc.). I think I've been doing my knitting blog since 2009 maybe. I should look.

Anyway, favorite yarn...I have a love of MCN Fingering from Sun Valley Fibers. Really, I love all her stuff but I've used the Fingering most often :)

Oh dear, I cannot pick a favorite. However, my first love was Malabrigo, and my current favorite by that company is Twist. It is a super soft merino with lots of plied twisted together to make a nice, dense-yet-fluffy-soft yarn with character.

Congratulations to your blogiversary! Seven years seems to be meaningful. ;-)
I don't have a favourite yarn, but I tend to buy natural fibres, which I like soft better than scratchy. I don't like cotton yarn that is splitty at all. Have a nice week. Regula

Congrats on 7 years of blogging. I haven't "followed" you for that long, but it's been a while. I enjoy your posts, and I enjoyed your account of the cross-country trip. I do not blog myself, but I enjoy reading blogs.

My favorite yarn is many different Merino/Cashmere blend sock yarns. I LOVE cushy socks, fingerless mitts, shawls, cowls, or anything else made with soft & squishy Merino/Cashmere.

Again, enjoy your Blogiversary, and Thank You for the fantastic posts.

Hooray Blogiversary! :) I'm completely awful at actually remembering to write in mine. Yours is the only one I actually remember to read regularly! :)

Picking a favorite yarn is hard. I love doing lace so I would have to say that the Heaven laceweight from Skaska Designs is my very favorite. :)

happy Blogoversary! I've never noticed mine... it will probably be close to 10 soon :O I feel old!

My favorite yarn to knit with is bittersweet woolery. I don't know what it is about the yarn, but I love it.

Woo! Happy Blogiversary. So happy I got to meet you on your trip! One of my few true "blog friends". No hesitation....my favorite yarn is Wollmeise. One of my newest favorites though is Alexandra's Crafts. Just finished a project with hers and I loved it!

Happy blogiversary!

Well, you already know of Nerd Girl Yarns, far better than I, but that is hands down my favorite. So far I love everything I've knit with of hers. Smashing and Trifecta are tops, so far, but I've only tried a few of her bases.
