YOP: Week 3

The word of the week...influenza!!!!  Our district has been hit hard this year!  I have not gotten sick, but I have 2-3 students out every day and we have 4-8 teachers out every's been pretty bad...

Friday night I started to feel yucky, but turned out to be some kind of stomach thing..I'm okay now, but have spent Saturday and Sunday pretty much sleeping, reading, and watching tv.....

We don't have school tomorrow, as it is Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, and I have a workshop on Wednesday, so it's another short week for me...

I haven't been doing too much crafting, as I have been reading instead....I'm still reading the Stargate Atlantis tie-in series...I am now on book 4 of the 6 book series....I have book 5 downloaded, but book 6 is not out yet....They are really good...

So on to the projects...seriously, the only thing finished was Danae's cowl...oh and I did whip up a pair of fingerless mitts, but haven't taken pictures yet....

I also started the Light in Shadows, but ripped it out last night.  I am still working on the Knit the Sky, but have gotten kinda bored with it...I knew that was going to happen...and I have to work on The Scarf, yep that famous one from Dr. Who....

Nerd Wars starts again on the 1st, so I'll have some more projects to add for the challenges...

These sucky bugs seem to be hitting everyone! Since I am a supply educational assistant I depend on getting sick so I can work (sad but true)... Only I came down with the sniffles yesterday! How is that for bitter irony...

Sometimes you just have to stop and do what is the best for getting better - and if that is curling up with a book under the duvet, then so be it! Mind you, it sounds as though you have still been busy (mitts etc)!! Have a nice relaxed week and hope you feel better soon.

Glad you're feeling better; the flu has hit a few of my friends, too. I made one of the Dr Who scarves for a lady earlier this year. That was a long project! Enjoy your short week :-)

Glad your feeling better and that the bug didn't hit you. Rest, sleep and reading was probably the best medicine. Enjoy your week.

I should have been a teacher as most of my friends are and it seems we travel in the same circles for some reason. My daughter is a teacher too..although my own children always told me not to go into it after I tried helping them with their math homework. I love math and was a computer science major but evidently was not good at explaining it. LOL!
Don't I know how many germs you're exposed too though! I hope you get your strength back today and are able to enjoy your day off. "cuddle up in the blankies" as I always say...some hot tea with lemon and honey, a good book, some good yarn and maybe some good t.v. or is that an oxymoron? ("good" t.v, I mean.)lol! Hope you feel better.

I'm so happy, happy! :-) Do you know why? Your parcel arrived this morning, I just discovered it in the mail box. Thanks so much! The yarn is lovely and the magazine is full of ideas. Have a nice day! Regula
