Year of Projects - Week 14

Good morning!  I actually have no updates this week, but I didn't want to skip another week.

It was parent conference week, so it was an exhausting week....I am finally recovering....

Did you hear about what happened to A Hundred Ravens?  They are awesome indie dyers out of New Hampshire.  They were in Dallas, Texas for the Dallas Fiber Festival and had their trailer stolen, which had everything in it!

Luckily, the thieves donated over 1000 skeins of yarn to a local charity.  A crocheter that works at the charity knew that was unusual and did some research....so they were able to recover part of their stock.  The other vendors cobbled together a booth for them and they were able to recoup some of their loss....there have been two gofundme set up...https://www.gofundme.com/a-hundred-ravens-trailer-was-stolen-fully-loaded?member=2006756&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=fb_co_campmgmt_m&fbclid=IwAR0DcFjOnEnx4ZAO_bENea8ScNTsOIHa2vZOfebaxyQK4Gse2Dem0c7pOn8

and another one https://www.gofundme.com/a-hundred-ravens?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=fb_dn_cpgnstaticxlarge_r&fbclid=IwAR0nJDPcBG3HgDFRX0ocGE_o05HOYesucIhWzd-pa1MIC7esBYJpHFsCyqI

This one has met its goal and they will be able to replace their trailer.....

There is also a raffle organized by the vendors at DFF, $30 for a ticket....not sure that one is still happening, as they are pulling the winners today.....

A Hundred Ravens are a great bunch of people....I do personally know them, as I've bought from them at fiber shows and also they are one of the vendor booths we use as a meetup for New England Fiber Festival....

Since my stash is split between two places, this was the only AHR yarn I have with me...
That's Maleficient on their Iacos base and Peggy Gradient set, inspired by Hamilton.

So no new finishes, no new cast-ons, and no updates....one more week before Spring Break, when I plan on working on bunches.....but we all know how plans go....

I'm going to be starting a blog about The Homestead....I'll post a link when it goes up....

That's a horrible story. Stealing all that beautiful yarn. Ugh.
I must make progress on my shawl today. Will start early.
The sun came out for half a minute. But it is warmer her today. 60s.. SUNNY and 70 tomorrow. Then a cold front. But if we can just hang on to a few warm days here and there it really helps

Gosh that’s terrible for that yarn company, but how wonderful that people rallied together and helped them after it happened. I like the green background, has a Spring feel about it.

How horrible for the Indie Dyers! But how wonderful for the other vendors to show how compassionate knitters are! We truly are a unique group of people. This is the first year I have not been in the Dallas area when the Fiber Fest was going on. ALthough I have never gone to it, I have always been in the area during the time. I have relatives there so I could even stay with them and go to the fest each day for some fiber fun! Oh Well...........maybe next year.

How awful that A Hundred Ravens were victims of such a crime. And how bizarre that the thieves donated that much yarn to a charity. So much and yet not all of it? The mind of criminals must be a sad, strange place to be. Glad the owners of all that beautiful yarn got at least part of it back. And enough funds to purchase another trailer! It is uplifting to see the support they've received.

That's terrible what happened to them. I bet they were sick to find out! So many wonderful people pitching in to help gives hope to all of us. Enjoy your week off!

How horrible for them. That happened to a vendor at STITCHES West last year. Glad they were able to recover some of their stock. Love the colorways you chose.

Glad you're recovering from all the parent conferencing... the yarn will wait. And thanks for letting us know about the indie dyer -- I tossed in a few $$ to help. There are more nice people than horrible at least.

So glad the charity volunteer figured out something was amiss. What a horrible thing to happen to them. Dishonesty just makes me so cranky! I am glad the gofundme campaign is doing so well.

I had heard about the trailer being stolen but not about the donation to charity. It's wonderful to see how the fibre community does work together to support each other.

Thanks for posting about A Hundred Ravens. I will go and add a little to the generosity that’s been shown to them. I hope the stupid thieves have just the opposite of kindness happen to them.

Swinging by again as I make my blog rounds to say hello. How sad about the group's loss, but how nice others came to the rescue. Crafters have the biggest hearts!

Me waving hello, as I make my blog rounds. Hope you're doing well.
