Year of Projects, Year 7, Week 17

Hello and good morning.  It is a bright and sunny Sunday morning here.  It was very cloudy when we woke up, but has brightened up throughout the morning.

I have taped another vlog, but it won't be up until later today.  So if you watch my vlogs, you can check back today or tomorrow.  I'm enjoying doing the vlogs, just wish my wifi was more cooperative!

So yesterday, while filming the vlog, I grabbed an old in-progress project, The Meandering Top. It is a project from Knit.Purl magazine from spring/simmer 2015.  I actually love several projects in the magazine.  I didn't know where I was, so I pulled it off the lifeline and then tried it on.  It was absolutely GI-NORMOUS on me.  I could fold it over almost half way.  So it was HUGE.  I used the needle required and the yarn.  I am a loose knitter and obviously I didn't swatch.  Well I did that yesterday.  I had to down two needle sizes.  It was suppose to be 4" for 22 stitches.  I was getting 5 1/4"  So BIG!....So I ripped it back.  Ripped out two balls of yarn.  I am now knitting from the previous project..
I've finished the band and will be starting on the short rows next.

And I've been working on socks.  The two I finished last week, I've started and gotten to the leg on both second socks.  I've also put in the heels and gotten to the feet on my Desert Vista Dyeworks Zombody Eating Candy Corn socks.  I put in the Fish Lips Kiss Heel and they both turned out a bit wonky....not wonky enough to rip out, but wonky nonetheless.....

It is also Amiguramay on Instagram.  I didn't have any ami's started on Friday when it started with WIPs.  I have a Moose. but to me an amigurami is small and the Moose is not small. So I have to figure out what I'm going to start.....maybe I'll start the Snoopy and Woodstock, as they are favorites of my Mom to gift for Mother's Day....yeah, that seems like a plan...

See you next week....

I’m not sure you’ll see my reply to your question on my blog. My crochet yarn is for my minions and is some mercerised cotton for making some octopus and jellyfish at some point for Preemie babies. I joined our local group 18 months ago and still haven’t attempted one yet. The minion yarn takes up most of the drawer. Your socks look great.

I love the meandering top and I was wondering if I made it big if I could use it as a vest this fall. I don't wear tank tops but I have been looking for a nice vest pattern. I didn't get a chance to watch your Vlog this week because of Stitch Maynia but this coming week for sure! Those socks are so cute! Have a good week and stay safe and well!

Ooooh... how disappointing that must have been. The yarn is beautiful, and I'm sure will make a wonderful Meandering.

oh my. Don't give me any more ideas. Amiguramay? I will have to check that out - there is a baby yoda I want to make, but snoopy sounds ideal too.

I like the meandering top. I wonder if I could put a small cap sleeve on it. I am not a huge fan of tank tops but will wear them when it is 115 here. I like the color of your top though.

The socks, even though they look wonky, will be fine when on the foot.

Have a great week.

Love the socks, you are the only one who will know they are wonky! The meandering top will be gorgeous, sorry you had to frog but at least it will be wearable.
