Stitch Along Wednesday - 11/11

Good morning folks!  I didn't do it last night, as I knew I'd be home today.  It is Veteran's Day in the US...a day to honor the many people who have served our country in the military.  I am proud to say my family has many veterans and has been serving our country, since at least 1893. And since it's a national holiday, schools are off today.

But you are here for the crafting...so let's get to it...I am furiously working on my Flaming Arrows to finish it up before the Mockinjay premiere....I am almost on section 2.

it's big enough now, that I can't spread it out anymore....

And also working on The Boyz shawl, so I can finish it and start something new!

I have several shawls waiting "in the wings" so to speak...including yarn for the new Stephen West MKAL!!!! 

Today I will be spending the day at the inlaws...watching The Pacific with my father in law, also a veteran....what will you be doing today?

Good evening, my lovelies!  With Daylight Savings Time happening here now, it is almost dark by the time I get home...

Did you vote?  The students didn't have school today, as they use the schools for polling places.  However I had a workshop....it was boring....so I played with my deadyourself app....I'm addicted to this app!  If you are a fan of  The Walking Dead, you should try it...

I have been poor at keeping up with all my projects...I've started many..finished a few....

Started last night...

Seed Stitch cowl/hood....I'm doing Vicki Howell's Photo Challenge on Instagram and I had nothing with seed stitch...this is Odyssey by The Verdant Gryphon, "Apocalypse on the Wall"....so soft and squishy! I got it at VKL in January....

This is finished, except for buttons...I know it is dark...it's the Pebble Vest in reds and muted blacks...

The Boyz Shawl....this is what I mainly work on...I have a Supernatural KAL, that I had yarn specially dyed for, but need to finish this first....

and various socks and things....

I will be acquiring yarn this Saturday at Fiber Festival of New England....follow me on instagram fro pics...graceysgoodies....I will probably be restrained though...as boy-howdy, I have a lot of yarn!  Then the Pebble Vest will be given at a Baby Shower on Sunday....

Stitch Along Wednesday

Hello, hello, hello....back for another edition....hey I think I've been doing pretty well....

So went to the doctor yesterday and yep, have my annual fall sinus infection...I just thought it was a cold....didn't really think it was in my sinuses....my doc looks at me and says....a cold doesn't last three weeks...this Friday would mark the 4th Friday since it started....so on the ole' antibiotics...

Anyone else watch The Walking Dead?  I am obsessed with it at the moment...last season was fabulous and this season seems like it will be better!!!!! 

Okay so what have I got going?  I'm still working on my Supernatural shawl...seems to be the one I pick up most often....I started a pair of cabled mitts in a zombie inspired colorway....the problem is I came home and took a nap and now it is too dark to take pictures...hopefully I can get my act together...

Was honored by some of my favoritest students on Friday...my favorite group of students (yes they are, I had them for two years, second and third and have kept in tough) are seniors this year....I went to the game on Friday to support them...a bunch are in the band and are majorettes and Cane-ettes, which is a thing....and I got this...

Here are some of them from last year.....love this group of kids so much and they all have pretty much stayed in touch and stayed friends...I just think it is remarkable....

Oh look I found a picture of the cabled mitts....I'm a bit further along....

Hi my peeps!  I hope to start blogging regularly soon....I think about it, just haven't gotten myself back into the groove....

So I finished my Owligan!!!!!!!  How amazing is that!  I am so thrilled and excited...I've worn it almost everyday since Sunday.....it's getting warm again here, so won't be wearing it much the rest of the week...it is just what I wanted....so proud of myself!

That is pretty much all I've worked on the past week or so...and then I took a bit of a break...went to Rhinebeck....now I'm itching to work on some of my socks...so when I get off here, I'll be working on those while watching a rerun of The Walking Dead....wow...are you guys watching this?

Stitch Along Wednesday

Good morning lovies!  I am actually home today sick....annual fall crud that I get...it usually turns into a sinus infection, but hasn't yet.....so I am working on my Owligan, with the slight hope of having it finished for Rhinebeck this weekend....

Working on second sleeve now, then the yoke, then the button band...but it it comes down to it, I may skip the button band....we'll see...mind you I have never knitted a sweater before....

My other projects will be waiting in the wings this week....how about you?  what are you up too?

Hangs head in shame***** No other excuse, except I forgot....I am going to try to post Tuesday night, so I remember....*sigh*

So thought I'd catch you up on what I have been doing....hurrah, I have a few finishes...and I hope to post them on Friday, unless, of course I forget....The Hubs cousin moved her wedding up a year (her mom has cancer), so the cake toppers that I had a year to make, I had a little over a week...because then they had to be mailed to Florida....went in the mail today...another wedding on Saturday and I was making the bride's garter...yeah just finished that this weekend too....and oh yeah, finished another Sockhead....again it's large, but not too bad...that was a KAL in a Facebook group...

And I've started a bunch...a CAL...Web Cowled Shawl

Went to a Supernatural Convention, decided I needed to work on a project that is Supernatural based, hence my Boneyard in a Supernatural themed yarn...

A Pebble vest for an upcoming baby shower....Mom requested black and red....

My Marvin socks, started on trip to Norway, haven't gotten far on them...wanted them for the Martian movie...yeah, saw movie on Friday...no socks...

My Flaming Arrow shawl for the last Hunger Games movie...

My Owligan is to the armholes...not sure I'll finish for Rhinebeck...sigh....it was way too hot to work on this for a long time!

I have some other bits and bobs...I've mostly worked on the Supernatural and Flaming Arrow shawls, with the gifts and the Sockhead....On Oct 7, I will be starting a Supernatural MKAL....well, I won't start it, as I don't have my yarn yet....I decided to special order it......

I haven't really been reading, but did purchase The Prize...it's a book about an education experiment in New Jersey that kinda went wrong.....
