Friday...woo-hooooooooooo!!!!!

Rhinebeck is tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  So excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So my Really Big Bag is here for Show and Tell.....

I started this bag sometime last year as a stashbuster....I had bought a ton of Paton's Soy yarn on sale for $3.00 a ball...and thought it would be perfect for a felted bag.....

This is after I finished crocheting.....it is folded in half and sewn at the top to keep it folded..and then the handle was sewn to opposite sides...so kind of like a messenger bag....

And after felting...or fulling...

Closeup
Before Felting:  16" deep, after 14" deep
                           28" wide, after 23" wide
Strap:   64" long, after 60" long (still too long, but I'll make it work..my Tim Gunn moment!)

I'm really thrilled with it all around...I also added a pocket to the inside for my phone and other small things...
It's the same pink as the edging, but crappy night photo.....

It's a bit heavy, but so are some of my other bags...we'll see how it holds up at Rhinebeck!

And go on over and check out Tami, Wisdom Begins in Wonder and Natural Suburbia for some others..I'll link when the others are up....

Love how your bag turned out! The striping and colors are just gorgeous. :)

Awesome - love the way the stripes soften and blur after felting :) And what genius to add the little pockets inside!

I'm glad it worked well for you! I'm also jealous that you get to go to Rhinebeck. But, there are things I get to do because I live out here...like Interweave Knitlab and Stitches West.

If the strap is too long, is there a way to shorten it by folding it over and sewing it or am I just talking crazy-talk?
