Year of Projects: Year 6, Week 30

Good morning!  (I'm actually on top of this and writing it Saturday night!)  I don't have any finishes this week, but I do have a couple of cast-ons...
Started a new sock...Wanted something mindless for the train trip into NYC...went to a trunk show for LolaBean Yarn in Brooklyn....

the yarn is all the way from Scotland from Fibre Punk called Merfolk.  I had seen it on someone's feed on Instagram and ordered it.  The dyer was on vacation, but sent me some stitch markers since it was shipped a bit late.  He really didn't have to do that.  He was also offering a 15% code for #queietqueercraftalong...I hadn't seen the code before ordering, but he refunded me the 15%...that was so great of him....
This is the beginning of the Mixed Pompom Hat from Loopy Mango.  I bought the yarn on a recent yarn crawl....

If you'd like to see some of my other recent acquisitions, please pop over to yesterday's post...

That's about it...I had a tough week...I had a two day pain flare and then it took me two days to feel normal again...then I headed to NYC on Friday and Saturday spent the day letting my ankle recover....but I also did some cleaning up of pictures and projects..and cast on that hat....

Oh, I've also been reading Red Bones, the third book in the Shetland series from Ann Cleeves.  I love the tv series and I'm loving the books!  None of the local libraries have the fourth book, so I may pop over to Barnes and Noble today to grab it (I'm writing this Saturday night and think I'm going to finish it.- eta: I did)

Ta-ta for now...back to the book!

Just an FYI, Blue Lightning is available on Thriftbooks for $7.29. Thriftbooks is a great app. Granted, it takes up to a week to receive your book. So if you have the time, it is great.

Sounds like you had a great time in NYC.

I’ve seen some lovely colour ways that Lola Bean has. We can’t get it here unfortunately.

A train trip sounds like lots of fun! I hope you are feeling better and that you've made a bit of headway. I can't wait to see how the hats come out.

Yay - here's to new cast ons! And how lovely of the yarn dyer to honour the discount. Hope you get a pain free week.

That retailer was certainly kind to give you the discount and the stitch markers. Good customer appreciation for sure. Sorry about the flare-up, but excited about your train trip. Always good to have socks for travel knitting, eh?

Lots of lovely new cast ons and all so pretty. Glad the flare up has died down and you are feeling more yourself again.

So sorry to read about the pain flare ups, but glad to read that you've had some fun, too. Going now to check out the beautiful yarns you've recently acquired. :)

Ohh! I love train trips--such fun. My friends and I used to take the train from Seattle to Portland to do a little yarn crawl--
Your stash enhancements are pretty--- I might need to look at Lola Bean's yarns.
I hope your pain is staying away and that you have a wonderful week!
xoxo
