Day 9 - Another Day on the Road

First, someone asked about The Sheep Capital.....well it was a bust....we saw a large herd of sheep on the way into town..and then a smaller one....I drove up and down the street with the "sign" 3 times, but could not find it....we also only saw one person in town...the population read 629...my school has more students than that!  So no pictures from The Sheep Capital....I was very disappointed...AND to add insult to injury!  On the way back, a truck kicked up some gravel on the road and nicked my windshield in 2 places.....

Now to today..let's just say Wyoming is a very LARGE state!!!!!!  We drove a lot....

We only made two quick stops today...the first to see some wagon wheel ruts that have been maintained from The Oregon Trail days....very cool!!!!
Then we went to Register Cliff...this is one of the places where emigrants on the wagon trains stopped and carved their names.....It is covered with names, because everyone does it now...even the nephew....
I liked this one, he was the wagonmaster....
Now we will be hanging out with a friend and her family for a few days...tomorrow we are celebrating Wyoming Statehood Day at a local prison..how's that for fun!!!!!

Oh this is one of my hosts..she was fascinated with my camera and helped take this..

And when we got to our destination today in Laramie...we were greeted with a double rainbow!

Bummer about the sheep capital! Oh well, thanks for trying! I have driven across Wyoming 3 times and have vowed to never do so again. Even though it's pretty, it never ends!
